I am visiting Salt Lake City from out of state and I make it a point to try to only eat at places I don’t have local to me at home. I tried The Pie on recommendation of some of the people I was working with while in town. I ordered in to my hotel and had the spicy teriyaki bone-in wings, a Holy Shiitake pizza, and I had to try the microbrew root beer (which they only deliver in the 64oz growler size). The wings tasted great and the chicken was nice and tender, but they didn’t have the crunchiness that I look for in wings. Still great though. The pizza was on point! Great dough, the toppings were delicious, and it held up well over night in the fridge. The root beer is absolutely delicious. I definitely do not regret buying a whole growler full! If I come back to Salt Lake I will for sure come back to The Pie and try some of their other pizzas!

I kept getting mixed reviews about this pizza between "it's the best pizza in SLC," and "don't waste your money"; the latter kept me from trying it, but I finally got the guts to do so with the Vegan Berry Bacon.... It. Was. Incredible. The crust wasn't soggy at all (each slice's peak stayed straight and stiff upon holding it up), it tasted deliciously bready, and it wasn't too soft nor too chewy. As for the flavor of the toppings, the combination of the sweet strawberry glaze, the "chicken" and the salty "bacon" bites was amazing. My mouth is watering thinking about it. I'll definitely be back. Forewarning, if you're not used to/don't like the creamy-then-gluey texture of vegan cheese (I love it), you may want to just get the regular Berry Bacon. I shared a 12 inch w/ one other person and it was the perfect size.

The hotel we were staying at recommended this place, and I can see why. A bit pricy, but well worth it. It cost 30 dollars (we got the extra large, cheese with double pepperoni and a two liter soda, and it gave two of us two meals apiece, plus leftovers for one reakfast) The crust was handmade, and very sturdy. One slice (we got the extra large) can fill you up. I had my teenager with me and he could only eat a half a pizza (normally he eats a whole pizza). The pizza was still hot when it was delivered to us at our hotel, but still cool enough that we could eat it immediately and not feel like we were eating lava. The cheese was melty and plentiful. There were plenty of pepperoni - some in every single bite. I would definitely try this company again.

THE PIE! The pies are as good as the memories. If this ends up on your bucket list you've waited to long. If you are dining in you've gotta go to the Underground location @ 1320e 200s steps away from the UofU it's the basement ambiance that definitely adds to the experience. This place is what you think of when you think of the college experience or memories. Decisions start at the door. Focus! You might forget to read the menu because every inch of this place has been tagged buy locals, my name is scribed near the bathroom I think. Ok what to order? Zappi, a pie, spaghetti, ugh I cant choose. If you have read my reviews you know my punctuation is poor and my pallet is simple and plain. Depending on what time of day you are there helps with your choices. Lunch or late night I go slice n salad and its plenty. The salad is a typical side salad but they have the good ranch not the Costco jug of HVR. Its gotta be made in house. Dont forget a side of ranch or 4. They start with cheese, then you add toppings to your liking. I'm going pepperoni sausage. Now they slide that bad boy back in the oven, I like it well done but they are the masters. Your slice is HUGE. Knife and fork is needed if your wearing a tie but sorry you are wearing one they are awful. If you go "all in" be careful the cheese can string forever and you dont want your cheese and toppings in your lap. Ooh man such cheesey goodness and the crust is what makes it so great. It's made in house daily and it has that flavor that comes with an oven that has made thousands and thousands of pizzas a year. Its hand tossed style and never doughy it's perfectly done. It's got that bite but got some chew to it and I love the end crust it's the finish you want, its all most like s-×. This is where your side of ranch makes your last few bites so epic. Gluten free crust is available. I dip in ranch the entire slice but minimally because over dipping covers up the great tastes you are there for and there is time and place for over ranching and it's called Pull-a-part. What's that you say? OMG so good they dissapear. They come with or w/o cheese. I go w/o because you get enuff cheese on your pie. It's that great crust brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with oregano, parm, and romano baked golden brown with sides of pizza sauce and ranch (get your friends their own ranch) you gotta watch yourself because you can fill up on them instead of your pizza or spaghetti. Funny how my friends always order after me so they can find out if I got pull-a-parts they can bum. I try to bogart the P-a-P's but before you know it they're gone and your friends too. There are plenty of Pie delights I haven't mentioned. Calzones stuffed with spaghetti, mozzarella, meatballs, and love, then one with whipped cream cheese, spinach, and veggies. Last you have the Zappi the Calzone little brother. It starts with cheese and sauce and you add the toppings. This is a savory turnover delight. It seems small next to a Pie but it feels huge in your tummy. They have several specialty Pies and of course create your own. They have 3 or 4 subs that look delicious but I haven't tried. After your finished you'll need a few minutes to box up what you couldn't finish, loosen your belt, and finish reading the wall next to you. On weekend nights it will be busy and a line forms outside waiting to get in. So be thoughtful and consider not sitting around to long so the people in line get to have their own experience and a Pie. I love this place I've been a customer since I was 12 and from 16yrs old till 23 I was there 2 or 3 times a week. Its mostly delivery now but its great to stop in and relive my youth. Definitely try the Pie. (Call before you go to the different locations because the basement location is somewhat small and close quarters and has been closed for safety reasons associated with covid virus.) Delivery and takeout are available check your areas. Wear your masks people I miss being able to experience things as the...

The Pie Pizzeria lives up to its hype! Wow! Talk about excellent pizza!!

I stopped in, having heard it's "the" place to get pizza if you're in SLC. I happened to be at the U of U hospital for a doctor's visit, so I thought I'd look them up. Turns out, I was just a few minutes away!

The establishment looks like a hole-in-the-wall joint, but when you step inside you realize the outside is just part of the amazing charm of this place. Now, so you know, I was in the take-out side. The other half is The Pie Underground, which I hear is equally amazing!!

The take-out walls are lined with pictures of celebrities and allocades from a very wide collection of critics, newspapers and magazines extolling the virtues and deliciousness of The Pie Pizzeria's excellence.

I told the gentleman taking my order that this was my first time coming in, and to please recommend something. He promptly recommended their top 3 choices, describing each of them in a fashion that made my mouth water.

I chose The Pie's Combo, a fantastic assortment of The Pie's favorite toppings: Smoked ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, Genoa salami, Linguica sausage, fresh mushrooms onions, green peppers, and amazing, super-fresh Mozzarella cheese.

And I WAS NOT disappointed!! A hot, cheesy, bubbly, eye-candy, mouth-watering, deeelishious-smelling pizza was presented to me. I wanted to sit right down in the lobby and eat a slice right there!!

However, I made it to my car, whereupon I promptly opened my treasure box and gobbled down 2 slices! I finally gained my composure and decided to take my time on the 3rd slice.

Heaven on earth, folks! Fresh, super-tasty, 3-foot Mozzarella stringy pizza slowly, bite-by-bite, passed my lips onto my feast-ready tongue. Fast or slow, this pizza delivers!!

Yep! The hype's legit! GREAT pizza - fresh, hot, cheesy, pick-your-pleasure ingredients on a delicious crust. I'll be back...for sure!!

P.S. I'd have provided pictures, but the pizza was so good, it was gone before I even remembered I could've...

Honestly SO disappointed with their customer service. We come here all the time and tonight I thought we would order take out for the first time as my boyfriend is admitted in the hospital. I place the order at 6:56pm and realize right away that I ordered two chicken pizzas by mistake. So I call right away, 2 min after my order was placed to be exact and waited on the line for 2 min as well before getting through and I give my order number and just simply ask if I can trade our chicken for pepperoni as one in our party doesn’t eat chicken and they said the pizza was already in the oven after 4 minutes on a Saturday night! And estimated delivery time was an hour! So I was thinking it would be delivered early then, but no… I call 37 min after getting told it’s in the oven to ask when it would be here so I could meet them at the front desk and I get told that the pizza hasn’t even left the pie yet… So either it was in the oven 4 min after order and my pizza has now been sitting on the table for at least 30min or it was a lie just because they didn’t want to help out a customer… anyhow assuming it was in the oven my pizza has now been delivered 1 hour and 10min after getting told it was in the oven and now it was cold… I don’t order fresh pizza to get it after it’s been out of the oven for over an hour… it was such a bad experience but a good way to lose customers. The flavor was still there but as I said, it was cold and bad...
