Where to begin... I was cruising home, in desperate need of a decent meal after a long day of manual labor when D & D Burger caught my peripheral.. Well, okay, all I saw was the word burger at first, but that's all I needed, because I could smell it long before I spotted it.. and it was heaven.. drifting longingly towards on a whimsical breeze and in through my open car window.. lulling me into its meaty embrace..
Ample parking on the street.. and a paid parking option in the back. I entered and was greeted by a pleasant young man who was patient with me as I made my last minute call to ask what my roommate wanted.. there is a decent vegetarian menu, but I was craving animal protein.. I ordered the gyro combo at the suggestion of the young man, my roommate a double cheese burger.
The wait time wasn't too bad and the place seemed pretty popular; complete with "hip" music.. like a place young people have been congregating for generations.. unwittingly succumbing to the unnatural allure if perfectly charred hamburgers, carbonated sugar water, fried foods and a dense array of milk shakes...
I can honestly say I am not generally surprised by gyros. This one surprised me. While seemingly small at first, i carefully unwrapped it to take the first bite. I quickly realized the thing must defy the laws of physics as the mass, nor the flavor, certainly did not seem to compute with my mental calculations!
Anyway, I am obviously quite satiated and ready for a much deserved beer and a bath.. I call it, the 'ole...
Read moreIf you are looking for a delicious and satisfying burger in Salt Lake City, look no further than B&D Burger. This place has been serving up fresh and juicy burgers since 1981, and they have a loyal fan base that keeps coming back for more. I visited their location near the UofU campus and ordered the Pastrami Burger, which comes with a 1/4 lb. char-broiled beef patty, sliced pastrami, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and special sauce on a toasted bun. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had - the beef was cooked to perfection, the pastrami was tender and smoky, and the sauce was tangy and flavorful. The fries were also hot and crispy, and the portion was generous. The service was fast and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend B&D Burger to anyone who loves burgers and wants to try a Utah favorite.
Update (2/19/2025): I went to Salt Lake City last week and tried the B&D burger again. I can confidently say that the burger they serve here is one of the best I’ve ever had. The pastrami is perfect, and the shake is different from other places. Don’t hesitate to stop by if you want to have a great time with your family...
Read moreI’ve been to B&Ds twice while the food is delicious their service is definitely lacking. The prices listed are misleading to say the least. The owner didn’t even seem to know what kind of mushrooms they had or what their veggie burger was made out of. The first time I went they only brought out one of the orders despite having ordered 2 one for me one for my buddy. The wait was pretty long and they didn’t give me my drink right away either. When they finally brought out the second meal and drink for my buddy I had already been done eating for a while. They brought him the wrong drink and when I asked for a refill to drink while my buddy ate the brought me the wrong drink as well. For what they charge it’s not worth going here. If they step it up and can tell me what’s actually in the food or where it comes from that’ll definitely help and if they can make a clear menu that posts a price that’s atleast close to what you actually pay. Charging double for what’s posted on the menu because of little fees is ridiculous at a restaurant! We loved the food but the poor experience we had even when dealing with the owner makes us not...
