First off, let me start by saying that I run a specialty auto shop in North Texas. We came down to San Antonio for a weekend trip. We got a slow leaking tire Saturday morning. We drove to the nearest Discount Tire to get it checked out. I told the service advisor we are from out of town, that Iāve got a small leak, and that I just need it looked at real quick to see if there is a nail. If there was, then you could put us in queue to get it fixed. We waited two hours for it to get pulled in, and it was in the shop for about 2 minutes. Tech comes out and says he canāt see a nail and just put some air in it. Well. Thereās two hours of our last day in town gone. We get on the road this morning, and the tire is still losing air, but we figure we can make it back to Dallas. Well, we get to Austin and the pressure is going down. Luckily, I found a place that was open on EASTER to look at the tire. And what do you know, thereās a FAT nail in the sidewall. How did you not see that? The guy took off the wheel and saw it in two seconds. I never do this to my clientele. My techs take wheels off, spray tires and even dunk them to ensure the customer if there is a leak or not. This is a terrible business practice. Iām not one for leaving reviews, but this blew our entire weekend. I would recommend going to a different discount tire until this location can get it together and properly train there technicians. The customer is the most important thing when it comes to vehicles. You want to make sure that they are taken care of, so that they wonāt write reviews like this.
EDIT: The nail went through the entire tire, so itās not repairable. Canāt tell you how upset I am about this. Obviously, thereās nothing that can be done. I donāt live in San Antonio and will not go to or recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday was an incredibly frustrating and eventful day. I visited Discount Tire to address an issue under my warranty, as one of my tires was constantly deflating. Unfortunately, my experience took an unpleasant turn. David, the representative assisting me, claimed that the tire in question had been previously repaired elsewhere, rendering it close to ineligible for replacement under warranty.
This accusation was baffling, as this vehicle is primarily a pleasure vehicle, and the tires were purchased brand new from Discount Tire in Laredo, TX. Despite my efforts to clarify the situation, I felt corneredāit ultimately became a matter of his word against mine. Left with no choice, I agreed to replace the tire, though the experience left me deeply dissatisfied.
Iām sharing this experience to caution others about the questionable practices I encountered. I was told the replacement was being done as a āfavorā because the tire had allegedly been repaired before. Unless Discount Tire sold me a previously used tire and passed it off as new, their explanation simply doesnāt add up. To make matters worse, they even left my leather steering wheel cover torn, from the second vehicle I had to take in that same day, further demonstrating a lack of care or respect for my vehicles.
I even took photos of the passenger area to show that the vehicle belongs to a mature adult who takes great care of it, but none of this seemed to matter. Transparency and honesty are paramount in customer service, and unfortunately, this experience left me feeling deceived and undervalued. I urge everyone to remain vigilant when dealing with warranty claims or replacements at...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 stars. These guys could work on a racecar pit crew. Thank you very much guys for the excellent service! While traveling to Port Isabel, I saw a low tire alert on my dashboard and was able to immediately exit the highway. Just off the ramp was a gas station. I drove to a flat spot there and discovered metal in one of my tires. I looked up Discount Tire and saw one was just 1/2 a mile away. My tire had air but I could hear it leaking. I couldn't top off the air at the gas station because their air pump didn't work. Instead of changing to my spare, I opted to drive the rest of the way and safely got to Discount with partial inflation. I was prepared to buy a matching tire they had in stock but the guys showed me mine could be repaired which they quickly did. I don't remember their names but this happened Saturday, December 28th at about 11am. I don't think 45 minutes lapsed from the time I saw the dashboard alert to the time I left Discount Tire at 4118 S. New Braunfels. It was unlucky to get the tire damage but the dear Lord blessed me with a series of good fortune after that. My travel was barely interrupted. The Discount Tire pit crew got me right back...
