Lamson Institute — Local services in San Antonio

This review is to express my disdain with one of the interviewers who's name is Aurora. Initially she seemed really kind and helpful, she gave me a tour of the institute and I was impressed with how the experience went. I was told that it was up to me to decide whether i want to enroll in the school and thought I had made it clear that I am trying to do research on other schools before I made a final decision.

Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding between me and Aurora, and when things did not go how she expected and me clearly saying that my intentions are not to enroll in this school, I was then told I am free to go and told by one of the staff members that I have every right to consider other options. On the way home I was then called by Aurora and she was being extremely disrespectful in a passive aggressive manner and throwing question after question as to why I am not enrolling in this school.

She thought that my intentions were to enroll to this school by the next day, and after telling her that those were not my intentions she started throwing insults to me and saying that I was backpedaling and that I was speaking highly of myself, even though I was not. It's ironic because initially she was praising me and flattering me.

She said that I am just going back to my own little corner and to my own comfort zone and that I am not ready for a change, she also said that I back pedaled on my words when I clearly did not and that it was all a misunderstanding on HER PART. The call was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for and I am glad that I am not enrolling.

The other staff members were extremely respectful and kind and it is a shame that Aurora felt that this call was necessary when it all could have been solved with a willingness to understand the other person, I just wish that this all could have been avoided and I hope she considers changing her NASTY, POISONOUS, and VILE BEHAVIOR.

I would seriously reconsider joining this institute because of this...

Do not come here for Electrical Tech course!! Go to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation online and find an accredited apprenticeship program or for your continuing education course. Go to Alamo Colleges, instead of this for-profit place. I'd advise you to join the IBEW.

I came here thinking it would be a good start for my electrical career but was I wrong. I ended up $16,000+ in debt for a useless certificate that I never even recieved because of that debt.. Class work was basic, hands-on was a shadow of what actual electrical work is, and teachers spoon fed test answers so we could pass. They didn't help me receive my apprentices license, which is just paperwork, but i did it on my own. I went and found work on my own. I made the mistake of saying yeah they helped me find a job on there paper but I only said yes cause I used the teacher as a reference, of which the company never even used. On top of that I didnt even have a the certificate of completion to "boast" because i never recieved it. As soon as i mentioned i went to Lamson i was told what a scam it was. ... If I could cancel the student loan and recieve a full refund I would. If I could go back in time I would have never came to Lamson. I would've gone straight to the union for proper training, great schooling, and a job w/good pay and benefits. I genuinely feel like I've been scammed by this for profit school. Thay never even mentioned their certificate was not accredited by the state of Texas. Very manipulative of those unaware, like I was in my youth.

I seen others that have had the same experience here, I think we need to come together and see if we have any options as far as student loan forgiveness or...

I want to start off by saying when I came to this school with my best friend i was coming coming for information about the programs that were offered. once I had came to the conclusion of what program I was gonna choose I was miss treated verbally by Ms.vivian and Ms.sonia. ms.vivian was talking about how I reminded her of her sister and how low she was and how I reminded her of her sister. then with Ms.sonia she kept on asking if I had parents but in a rude way to we’re it made me feel uncomfortabl. The main thing i want to bring is that my best friend and I were both attending this school and there was an older lady in our class that was very disrespectful and bullied others well on our last day she provoked my best friend by saying come at me so i stepped in and pulled my friend out of the class room so she can calm down but only to find out that they blamed my friend by saying she started it all when that was not the case as well as they states that they expelled her but no we’re did it say that she couldn’t be on proper because of that was the case a CTW would of needed to be put in place known as a criminal trespass warrant but no CTW was put in place so with all of this being said I do not recommend this school at all unless you want to be treated with disrespect as well as not being taught the proper fundamentals of the trade program you...
