From Robert Green 3/21/23
I am hoping that you get this. I'm not too good on phones or computers so please excuse me using this method to contact you. Doctor Jotie was the doctor that did my progress report. I am so thankful for that. From what was scheduled, she was to see me for one hour, well it turned into 1 and 3/4 hours and though I was kept busy all the time, I never was conscious of the longer time.
After all the tests, some of which were the same as what I have been doing in the weekly meeting with Yinka, Dr. Jotie listened to my problems that I have with my movement. She was very interested and asked me to step into the hall to try an experiment. I did what she said and ended up walking down the hall with a piece of cardboard held at my nose. I didn't know what was going on until I tried it and even now. I can not believe the results.
I could not walk down the hall without touching or bumping into the walls before this, but now I am walking it with no problem. I had a hard time believing it. Dr Jotie took me back into the room and took my glasses and cut pieces of tape that she put on them, the same as the cardboard that she had me hold in the hall. Then she made me go back into the hall and walk again with just my glasses with the tape on them. It was the same result and I could not stop thanking her for what she had done for me.
I know that doctors are smarter than the average person but to me Dr Jotie is the best. She gave me the thought that this OVCT could solve my problem with sight and dizziness. If I were in power to do it, I would give Dr Jotie a raise. She...
Read moreMy sonâs eyes started to cross in at age 3 due to farsightedness, and we started seeing pediatric ophthalmologists exclusively. He wore glasses and patched for 2 years with little improvement, so he had strabismus surgery when he turned 5. This resulted in exotropia, and he would suppress one eye or have double vision, along with tracking issues. The pediatric ophthalmologist said it might just be too late for him to recover his binocular vision. We believed our son still had potential for improvement in his vision and was not getting the care he needed.
We reached out to OCVT for a consultation, and we have been there for 2 years. The doctors, therapists and front desk staff have been so supportive on this journey with us. For the first time, we feel like we finally have doctors that really care about helping our son. Iâm continually amazed by how much time and care OCVT puts into understanding my sonâs issues and getting his prescription correct. He loves working with his therapists and with all the tools and technology they have in office. He has been diligent with his homework and attending weekly sessions, and he has had measurable improvement in his acuity, tracking and even depth perception. This has made all the time and money invested worth it to us. The doctors and therapists modify his treatment plan continuously, keep him interested, and communicate extensively with us. We canât thank everyone at OCVT enough for not...
Read moreAfter attending 5 sessions and spending over $1000, I received a call from the office manager that one of the doctors is uncomfortable doing in-person sessions with my young son. Why? Because his mask is not the mask they prefer. They want to transfer to online services for my son, which would require that I would have to do the doctorâs job and still pay $195/session. We had worn the same masks for all 5 sessions, but because one doctor, who looked very young and healthy, feels uncomfortable, we are forced to stay at home. They said that it wasnât prejudicial, as they have required others to change masks if they thought they were too loose or not good enough. Mind you, this was a conversation on the phone while I sat in my vehicle waiting for my son to complete his session! When my son came out of the session, he said that the doctor treated him âstrangely.â It is one thing to pick on adults and make them feel badly, but it is an entirely different ballgame when you make a child feel badly for having done nothing wrong. We paid a $500+ initial evaluation fee and an almost $200 fee for a bag with a few copies of eye charts and a couple of cheap eye patches, which should be refunded since I am going to have to pay for this again at a different doctorâs office. We quit the program and we will be looking for another developmental eye doctor who doesnât even...
