M & J glass co — Local services in San Carlos

So this is a first for me, I'm reviewing a company I haven't done business with! M & J were so awesome, I feel that I need to say something. I brought in a couple of glass pieces from 2 lamps I'd just broken - and stupidly, after 15 years of owning these lamps, I managed to break the same pieces on each one doing the same thing! So - after reading the great reviews posted here I took the pieces into the shop and left them for Mark to look at when he returned. He gave me a call that evening and apologized right away for the cost, knowing it was going to be a lot more expensive than I could have imagined. It was. Not so much for the glass, but for the unique holes it would need. Before I could even say anything, he offered to do it for less, but it was still a lot. I thanked him and said I needed to decide how much I liked these lamps... I went in the next day to pick up the pieces and he again apologized that he couldn't do it for less. I know enough about working with glass to know how very difficult it was going to be to do those holes - his price was high but very fair. So I opted not to have it done. But he (and his charming wife) were both so kind and understanding! I know I'll be going here the next time I have any...

Hired Mark and his guys to install a glass railing on our deck. We had a lot of specific requests, and he patiently listened to everything and worked with us the whole way, even if we wanted things that were a bit atypical. He also worked with us to get down to a very reasonable price, which is what I appreciated most about him. He is a genuinely nice guy, and he tries to go out of his way to help you out whenever possible. The finished product looks amazing, and he got it done despite having to deal with some family issues during the project. Couldn't recommend them...

Joe and Mark are great. They installed a window crank in a window in my bedroom in my old apt. building. As a result, the frame of the window was bent making it difficult to keep the screws for the crank from coming out.
