Jimbo's Liquor Store — Local services in San Diego

I’m filing a formal complaint regarding a recent incident at Jimbo’s Liquor in Clairemont, San Diego. I visited the location to pick up a delivery order (as a DoorDash driver). I respectfully followed protocol, showed my ID, and asked a standard question: “What’s my age?”

A man sitting next to the cashier, who I believe is the owner, became hostile for no reason. He told me I was being a “smartass” and kicked me out of the store in front of other customers. I remained calm and respectful the entire time.

When DoorDash followed up, the owner falsely claimed I had “harassed” an employee — which is completely untrue. I did not raise my voice, curse, or engage in any threatening behavior.

I’ve completed over 4,000 alcohol deliveries with top ratings and have 12+ years of professional delivery experience. This is the first time I’ve ever been kicked out of a store over a peaceful interaction.

I believe this store owner violated proper conduct and may have acted with discriminatory intent. I ask that you review this incident seriously and take appropriate action regarding their license and...

This is a good quality neighborhood liquor store and market. They have an extensive selection of craft beer and good quality wines, on top of the line liquor. They have a cigar humidor, a nice ice cream selection and Pokemon on display. You can get a last-minute razor or anti perspirant, and even pet food. What's the best part about this place is the knowledgeable staff. Keith and Nick have a high level of product knowledge. They have sampled most of their products and have quality feedback from their customers on products that they have not sampled. They can recommend products based on your needs, and questions you may ask. I've been a loyal Jimbo's customer for going on 15 years and today was the worst experience I've ever had at Jimbo's. One of the owner's was clearly having a bad day after he threatened me "not to push his buttons" and said "you don't deal with people all day". I found it really disappointing the level of disrespect I received and that the owner felt it was OK to take his bad day out on me. I will be taking a break from buying my craft beers from Jimbo's for a while. Other fantastic options are Hoppy Spirits on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Keg and Bottle up on Mt. Acadia Boulevard.
