Fantastic Sams Cut & Color — Local services in San Diego

My wife had a horrific experience her and a still upset over how she was treated. She came in on a Groupon and the stylist started with a hair treatment/conditioning. He set the timer for 10 min. He started talking to the receptionist, got busy and walked by after a few minutes and reset the timer. After 10 minutes her head was getting very hot. After he didn't show up after 25 minutes, she got very ill and had to rip off the head cover. There was conditioner running all down her clothes, under her clothes, on the floor and her skin got very red and irritated. She asked for help and thankfully the other staff immediately started getting towels for her; they saw that she was clearly sickened and couldn't think clearly and was ill. They started to take off her barber apron and started to help her wipe up all the conditioner leaking from the cap onto her clothes and skin. She had to sit down as she was dizzy. Although the Asian man never came over, the others asked me how she was feeling. She was ill and said so. Finally the guy walked over and asked what was up. She told him she was feeling overheated and ill and he said that she had long hair and that was the problem. He never apologized but said it was her fault. He told her to wash up in the rest room but offered no towel. The other woman got her a towel and she tried to clean up. She told him she needed to go home and he said nothing, but just walked away. The receptionist never asked me how she was but just gave me back the Groupon and told her to come back if she was feeling better. The complete incompetence, disregard for the customer, lack of concern and refusal to offer an apology makes her NEVER want to return back to this place. They clearly don't care about the customer (although some of the staff was very helpful), It was truly appalling to be treated with such...

Would give 0 stars if possible. The older guy that works there ruined my hair, I asked for my bangs to get cut to my eyebrows (I showed him a reference picture as well.) and that I was getting this done because I just had a baby 2 months ago and wanted to feel pretty again, and he cut them over halfway up my forehead. He started to cut without even asking if the length was okay, and he did it so fast I didn't even have time to stop him. After beginning cutting, he stopped and said "oh, I should probably put on my glasses" and then continued to hack the rest of my bangs off. They are so short they stick straight up now no matter what I do. I went back to my car in tears. My husband was very upset and went back in to get a refund, and upon entering the salon, the 3 staff members were talking about me, and how they knew they messed my hair up, but that it was "my fault" because "I wanted them too thick." And despite knowing they ruined my hair, they still charged my card. Last time I checked, the thickness of my bangs doesn't make them so short that I now have a mullet. Once they realized that they were talking about me in front of my husband they tried to back peddle and apologize and play dumb. I have never been more humiliated, felt more ugly, or disrespected. Derek does a GREAT job with highlights. I have a hard time trusting anyone with my hair because I feel like stylists don't listen. I tell them I don't want a lot of highlights... I want far more dark than blonde in my hair, and I end up with more light than dark in my hair. When I say 10 foils, I absolutely mean 10 foils. He kinda got that. More blonde still than I want, but not as much as other stylists and at least got the color right. Unfortunately, I trusted him to cut my hair this time. He didn't listen when it came to the haircut. I wanted a light trim. He said, "I assume with layers?" I told him absolutely not. I like long layers around my face but not in the back. Of course, they don't dry your hair here. When my hair finally dries at home, I call my boyfriend in tears. I have choppy short layers in the back. I HATE IT. My boyfriend comes home from work and says, "Your hair looks so short, and it does look a little choppy." When I pull it up, it doesn't even go past my ears because he chopped it so much on the top.
