Lulu's Nail Spa & Boutique — Local services in San Diego

Update #2 (should have posted sooner): Lulu's owner followed up with me and made things right by hearing my concerns & offering 2 complimentary services to make up for my bad experience. She later let me know that Leslie was no longer working at Lulu's. I was worried that I had gotten Leslie fired (as that was NOT my intent whatsoever) but she assured me that was not the case & Leslie left of her own volition. I am again a satisfied client of Lulu's & commend the owner for her handling of the situation. I highly recommend Sandy who I see most often. I've also seen Bronte and Mako who do great work!

Updated 8/23/14: The salon manager, Leslie, seems to prefer to 'play favorites' & not provide good customer service to all clients. Her curt-bordering-on-outright-rude attitude this morning may have cost Lulu's a long-time client who has patronized the salon since it was newly-opened by Travis Parker. I have left a message for the current owner & am awaiting her response.

My original 4-star review: I'm a big Lulu's fan & would give 5 stars if their hours were more useful for someone who works a M-F 9-5 job outside South Park. Sat & Sun appointments fill up very far in advance. It's a bummer that I have to burn vacation time just to get a mani-pedi. Wish there were more nail salons like Lulu's in other areas...

8/25/2022 I went to the lulu's for the Wellness footlogix Pedicure cost 72 dollars. I went there 5 mins early. I asked The front desk lady while guiding me to my chair if I can get gel manicure she said "we don't have time for gel manicure for you"(hmmm and just went and sat on my chair) . Long story short, the service Is 60mins the lady completed the whole session in less 40mins and my callus are still there. I came to the front desk to pay and I asked the lady that my service was supposed to be 60min but it's done with less than of mentioned that I came to the salon before and the service was 60 mins, lady said "no the service can range from 45-60min " I mentioned to her that in their website and also last time I was here my appointment was for 60 mins and last time my experience was amazing but today everything was rushed and not done with quality , the lady looked it me with indifference and said "oh" I was baffled by the whole experience wondering why am I was being treated this way and then I realized I was wearing my Hijiab down, I usually wear as turban but I forgot to put it up.

So Lulu's spa has an issue with Muslim Hijabi women. I hope you are held accountable for what you did and learn from it.

I only go here to get my manicure and pedicure's. Cute Shabby/Chic decor. The nail technicians are terrific! They have AMAZING customer service. I love them so much I switch between seeing Nicole for my pedicures-girl gives the best foot massage! I see Katy for my mani's. They both are fun people to talk to. It's nice to have a conversation with someone who can speak English and isn't ignoring you and speaking to her co-worker in a foreign language you can't understand. We've all gone to those $15 pedi places. This place is more, but the quality of the pedi's and mani's speak for themselves. I personally love supporting small locally owned businesses and this is by far the best place in San Diego for a mani and pedi. Plus they're located in super cool South Park! I always meet a friend for coffee or lunch and walk around the shops. Oh and they always have the latest nail...
