I explicitly asked the server for a Mocktail (I gave up alcohol 2.5 years ago). After some discussion I decided on a red vigin margarita and the server assured me they could do it without alcohol. One of the friends ordered a regular Margarita. When the drinks arrived to the table, I was handed mine by the server and immediately tasted alcohol. I asked my friend to taste it and she agreed. We then thought maybe the margaritas got switched, but nope, hers had alcohol in it too. To say I was furious would be too kind. I politely excused myself from the table so I could go outside and spit the alcohol out. When I got back to the table the server came to drop off some tater tots we ordered (stay tuned for that disaster) and asked what was wrong. I replied that my drink had alcohol in it and he responded, "okay?". My friends began to remind him that I explicitly asked for a non alcoholic drink, to which he responded, "well do you want me to just void it?". I won't even continue to make you read thru the lack of empathy, rudeness, and nonchalance we received from the establishment and staff. But in case you're wondering, no I never received an apology for being given an alcoholic drink.

An imitation diamond in the rough. The atmosphere is all outdoors with a bar and selection of seating under a roof and the remaining of seating in rocks under benches and umbrellas. The overall setting is made to imitate the railroad old western way of life. Thus the name "Station Tavern". We didn't order much, but we were mostly looking forward to drinking. Our drinks were very good. However, we ordered garlic fries. The fries that came were plain so we sent them back. Same fries came back cold with cheese lazily laid on top. The cheese was not melted at all so we were unable to get it on the fries (what's the point?). We asked for the cheese to be melted in which they stated they were unable to melt cheese. UNABLE TO MELT CHEESE? They proceeded to melt pepper jack cheese (very poorly) on our fries. But, they had just stated that they couldn't melt cheese. How such a simple item out of their 10 food items could be failed repeatedly I will never know. I brought a new friend here to try to show the quirks of San Diego and was disappointed along with my tourist friend. ALSO, no military discount.

First time here and it was a good experience. ::: Food ::: I just ordered a salad. The menu is small and I was looking for something light. Nothing fancy. As for the salad there's not much to say, except it was a well prepared and clea. It's a salad with greens, shredded beet and some sheets or radish and a dressing you can choose from a wide variety. I chose blue cheese. ::: Drinks :::: The drink on the other hand was really good. It was a cranberry margarita on the rocks, that was delicious it has the really taste of the margarita with a true flavor coming from the cranberry juice. It was served in a pint, which makes it much better. ::: Service ::: The service was quite good. On time, waiter checking on you. Waiter offering smiles and good attitude. ::: Place ::: The place has a good ambient, all kind of people, couples, friends, families and kids enyoing themselves with a good taste of music that allows you to have a good talk with your companion. I liked this place.

Came here for dinner with a friend and we were looking for some quick, yummy tavern/bar food while we waited for our friends at another place.

Since it was a Friday night it was about a 15 min wait which was fine as we walked around for a bit. We then were seated near the bar. They have outdoor seating as well.

Menu is pretty simple and they have what seems to be a full bar. Our waiter was very soft spoken so I unfortunately couldn't hear her over the loudness of the bar with the talking and the game going.

We ordered burgers and an order of garlic parmesan fries to share. Food didn't take that long to come out and everything was hot!

The main downside of this place is that the burgers had almost no seasoning. I'm a plain cheeseburger gal and while it is boring and bland to some usually most burgers will still be delicious thanks to the seasonings added. This was a relatively dry burger and since there was no seasoning I couldn't finish it.

My friend got the burger with everything and she said even with the veggies and everything it was still lacking.

The garlic fries were yummy, but when I think of parmesan fries I don't imagine it with shaved parmesan. Maybe I am wrong here, but I would assume they use the grated version so it melts a bit more. This had the parmesan on top and it wasn't warm in anyway so we just had to grab some fries and some shaved bits and eat it together.

The garlic was also not spread around it was just a giant clump in the middle which also made it not the greatest batch of fries we've had.

The vibes are bar vibes - close seating, loud ambiance, and the game going. Plenty of groups were there and atmosphere was rocking so that didn't disappoint.

Overall I would sadly have to skip coming here again as I just felt let down by the taste and flavoring...

This place struggles in several areas.

Looks like it used to have more theming in the past than it currently does. This makes everything inside feel incohesive and dull. It’s extremely noisy and the bartenders constantly slamming cups and dishes around excessively doesn’t help.

The burgers are nothing special here, especially for the $11+ they want for them. They are pretty basic and don’t come with any sauces, you’ll need to pay extra for anything other than ketchup and mustard. You’re better off going to a fast food burger joint and saving some cash.

The grilled cheese was hardly that. Two pieces of lightly toasted bread with microwaved cheese in the middle. This is $6 mind you.

Tots are way over cooked and extremely crunchy throughout.

Garlic fries are disappointing. The fries are cooked separately and then garlic plus cheese shreds are just plopped in the middle. They leave it to you to mix them up so each fry has an even coating of toppings.

The beer is served just above room temperature with no head whatsoever. This lends to a less than ideal drinking experience and a warm beer halfway thru.

Everything is a separate item so be prepared for your bill to jump up every time you order something.

Overall less than a mediocre experience, lackluster food at an expensive price point. I’d skip it and go...
