I've been a member of a variety of gyms in San Diego, from the "corporate big names" to other locally-owned gyms in different areas. Ultimately and more importantly - honestly, the gym has 97% of equipment required for everything and everyone at any level or fitness category/discipline. Heavy iron lifters to Crossfit to Aerobic exercisers and everything in between all have a place and get what they need to get done and have a great workout here.
As a South Park local I can tell you this gym really permeates the neighborly vibe and familiarity that makes me never want to leave South Park. Owner Rob is an extremely helpful and courteous guy and is always looking to improve aspects of the gym (they just installed some stellar new turf in the outdoor section out back!).
There is plenty of equipment, so I have never felt like the gym was overcrowded or "I had to give up my spot" or "wait for a machine." All the fellow gym-goers and members of staff are courteous and VERY conscious of COVID protocols as well.
Added bonus is the VIBE! Awesome/Unique music, gorgeous art surrounding the walls, and the gym is LITERALLY a converted fire station. You can't get...
Read moreI have to start by saying that Rob, the owner of Southpark Fitness, is amazing!! He's always there to greet me with a smile and make sure that I have everything I need for my workout. I love that he brings his dog with him - it really adds to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the gym. And it's great that his son works there too, you can really tell that it's a family-owned business that cares about its members. The rest of the staff is amazing as well - Elena and Michael Angelo are always friendly, so kind, and helpful. I really appreciate that the gym is not busy, so I never have to wait around for equipment. The environment is comfortable and laid back, which makes it easy to focus on my workout and enjoy my time at the gym. Overall, I'm really happy with my decision to join Southpark Fitness and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gym with a friendly and dedicated...
Read moreThis gem of a gym brought me to South Park for the first time, and I couldn’t be more pleased. What an awesome time! Rob (the owner) and Gabby felt like old friends, and everyone that came in were all neighborhood friends — the energy was just great. This isn’t a fancy training facility full of high energy classes and brand new equipment. It’s just the best neighborhood gym you’re going to find, with indoor and outdoor spaces and all the equipment you should need for a solid workout. I dropped in for a (cheap!) day pass and it was perfect. No locker rooms but clean bathrooms with showers, and safe places for your things. Oh and they have great music, you can leave your...
