Trying to find a venue for my low-budget party was time-consuming and frustrating. I was so excited to find this place! I rented a space here at Queen Bees for about 50 people. I loved it and I thought it was perfect for our low budget. It was colorful, red and blue with black and white checkers, red bar stools and tables, with low colored lights and a disco ball. We brought our own alcohol but we had to use their bartender, who was awesome. So was David, who was our helper I guess you could say. He did everything. He was very knowledgeable and was always two steps ahead of me during the party handling every little thing for me. We had Our own DJ and David helped him hook his stuff up to the speakers. Our DJ is not A professional and he was concerned about understanding the equipment but it was all done instantly and no trouble whatsoever with David helping him. I read the other reviews and I tried to be careful to make sure what we got was what we were promised. But it says right in the contract that they can change anything that they want to. We got exactly what was promised and it was great. Maybe the other reviews have encouraged them to deliver what they promise. I couldn’t have been more pleased with what we got for what we paid. I was worried After reading the other reviews that we might not get the cool room but everything worked out perfectly. They also made ya feel comfortable. Some of the ladies at my party were wearing very skimpy Halloween costumes and the staff let us know that we could do whatever we wanted to. They didn’t judge us. The only surprise was I was told the ice was included and then they charged me $40 for ice. We were going to bring our own and I was told not to because they supplied that that it was included. But it wasn’t. I lost some items. I brought a lot of stuff. Decorations and prizes. I won’t do that next time. I don’t think anybody intentionally took anything. I just think that at the end of the night it was kind of crazy and what we didn’t grab got thrown away or adopted. All things considered, if you want a cool venue on a low budget, I highly recommend this place! And I’ll definitely be back for my party in April. FYI, These photos were taken before the party. David filled this area with cute little tables for two or three with red barstools and some large white tables with 10 chairs around them. The lights were low and colored, and the disco ball was spinning. They Also opened that back door so we had access to the outside patio and we set up a photo taking both out there.

We went for an event on a Friday evening. Parking is a bit crazy in the area, we asked where the best place to park was and were told to park in the lot next to the venue since we were attending the event. We were also warned not to park in the restaurant/lot to the left because they charge $5/hour for parking. Sort of bummed when we came out to our car after the event and found a ticket on our window. Maybe street parking if available is the best however being a Friday night parking was sparce. Queen Bee’s itself is an event space that has live music, salsa dancing and event holds private events like parties and weddings. We went to see some live music and the sound was pretty good. Queen Bee’s has a nice sized stage for the bands and plenty of open space to dance (or in our case grab a chair and sit in the back and listen). Back of the venue was separated out that evening for another event so the total space is fairly large. There is no food or beverage sold onsite so make sure you bring your own water or soda. Have not seen how the space is set-up for a party or a wedding but it is a great space for some live music.

Queen Bee’s Art & Cultural Center is a multi-purpose venue centrally located in beautiful North Park San Diego. They host various events from concerts to dance classes, art shows, open mic nights, special events, private parties and much much more. They feature the largest dance floor in the neighborhood - over 3,500 sq ft! and one of the largest stages. Their goal is to support local musicians & artists by opening up our space to a wide variety of concerts & events. The walls are covered in art, from pretty paintings and fine photography to spray painted murals. Queen Bees is a great spot for Zumba classes or sunday night Salsa! The classes are affordable and start at only $7.00. The atmosphere is cozy, with plushy chairs in the front VIP section and fold out wooden ones near the back. Only complaints are that they only have two bathrooms and the parking lot is small, but there's a lot one block over that only costs $5 to park. Check it out next time your in the area!!

the owner of this venue doesn't want to pay out the 50% ticketing split that was listed in our event contract and is continuing to ignore my messages and calls over a one month time span, perhaps I will finally hear from her after leaving this review.

do not leave the venue without being paid!! I booked a concert at this venue on a short tour for indie musicians. I was told by the venue employee that Alma handles all the payouts from their eventbrite sales and to reach out to her after our show and she would handle it. I did so and never heard back so I started reaching out to this employee Seven who was responsive, they said they could set up a time for me to speak with Alma which never happened and I was also told several times she would be reaching out to me which has yet to happen and it's been a month of me trying to get in contact.

Seven says she doesn't want to pay bc we didn't sell 50 tickets (we sold 46 $18 tickets) and I made a $250 deposit to secure the date. the 50 ticket minimum was never mentioned in the contract.

Additionally, their eventbrite page did not work to purchase tickets on the day of show and did not get fixed after I brought that up which likely lead to less ticket sales. I also asked if they could sign me up for daily ticket sales emails via eventbrite and they refused, saying that they don't provide access to their eventbrite account (that's not at all what I was asking, I was asking for a simple automated email) they seemed to not understand my simple request and I was told no promoter had ever asked for that before.

The sound person for our show showed up at doors time, which lead to us having to push doors 30 minutes while we had a line of people waiting outside. The venue itself was nice, had a large stage and large greenroom and the employee Seven that was working that day was very nice and helpful.

The venue owes me at least $414 (from our ticket sales that went into their eventbrite account). I hope to get this resolved and be able to update this review with a...
