As someone who was a die-hard CorePower Yoga fan for almost 20 years, I never thought I’d find anything that could compare—until I discovered SHIFT Pilates. After years of pushing myself too hard in Sculpt classes and not listening to my body, I ended up with a back injury that forced me to reevaluate my fitness routine. That’s when I heard about Somatic Pilates at SHIFT, and I decided to give it a try.
I’m so glad I did! My body has never felt better. I feel more toned, my core is stronger, and for the first time in years, I feel like my body is moving the way it’s supposed to. The instructors at SHIFT are phenomenal, but I especially love the early morning classes with Katie. Starting my day with her guidance is such a gift. She always checks in to see how my body is feeling and asks if there’s a specific area I’d like to work on. Katie’s care and intentionality make every session feel personalized, and it’s clear she genuinely wants to help each of her students move safely and effectively.
Tuzdae’s Somatic Centering classes on Sunday mornings are also incredible! The way she integrates stretching and strength is so seamless—you barely realize you’re working out, but your body feels fantastic afterward.

I’ve taken a lot of reformer Pilates classes, and the way that she instructs and her pace makes it a seamless process while learning the art of Pilates. She has a way of making you aware of your form, but does not single anyone out. She also has a calming and inviting energy that makes you feel relaxed and present.
My second class was with Katie and she was so aware of everyone's posture and finding out if anyone had anything they wanted to focus on in the class. I told her I have weakness in my hips and she asked if I wanted her to stay away from that or challenge me and I was all for the challenge. She takes into consideration the entire body (mind...injuries...strength) and creates the most dynamic workouts I've ever experienced.
