A Shady and Unprofessional Hiring Experience
As a first-time fitness instructor, I was incredibly excited about the opportunity to work at Stride Fitness Studio and to join a brand that emphasizes community and wellness, as stated on their website. Unfortunately, my experience revealed a different realityāone of misleading practices, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of authenticity.
Hereās what happened: I had a formal interview on Sunday with McKenna, the hiring manager. Following the interview, I was asked to attend a class on Wednesday and audition afterward. During my audition, McKenna told me I had done a great job and assured me that we would move on to the next steps. She even discussed in detail my availability and how well it aligned with their needs. I was told that most classes are in the mornings and evenings, times I am fully available, including weekends. Additionally, McKenna mentioned the compensation detailsāa rate of around $50 per class and $18 per hour for hourly tasksāfurther reinforcing my belief that everything was progressing well.
Fast forward to this past Monday: McKenna reached out again to schedule my training for Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM. She also sent training materials to review in preparation. Everything seemed to be moving forward as expected. However, today, I received an abrupt and completely unprofessional text message stating that McKenna and someone named Michelle (whom Iāve never even met) decided my schedule didnāt align with their needs. This makes absolutely no sense, as I am available for 90% of their class times, including weekends, and have demonstrated incredible flexibility.
Stride Fitness Studio claims on their website to provide a āsupportive environment for instructors to grow and succeed,ā but my experience shows the opposite. Not only were the promises made during the process misleading, but the decision to drop meāafter I was already asked to prepare for trainingāthrough a text message is beyond unprofessional. This lack of basic courtesy and respect highlights how poorly they treat potential instructors.
Members and potential instructors should stay away from this place. Stride Fitness Studio is not the authentic, community-driven brand they portray themselves to be. Instead, they seem to embrace shady business practices and a lack of transparency that discredits their values. I will also be reporting this to the EEOC for discriminatory practices and unequal employment opportunities. If Stride truly values inclusivity and support, as they claim, they have a lot...

Signed up not really knowing what to expect and took my first class on their opening day... 3 weeks later I'm addicted!
They offer 3 different type of classes; Stride, Combo, or Core. This makes it even more enjoyable because each type of class has a different focus.
The CORE class is a guided treadmill class that ends with 10 minutes of killer core/ab exercises... don't worry you can modify EVERYTHING.
The COMBO class is also guided treadmill and ends with strength training (predominantly legs and can be modified with or without weights)
The STRIDE class is ALL treadmill (guided of course) and focuses on intervals and hills to help you strengthen your legs and core. This is my current favorite š
They have state of the art treadmills and you're synced up to a heart rate monitor throughout the class. They also have a water fill station and free lockers to secure your belongings.... oh and after EVERY class they hand out ice cold wet towels to wipe down with (love it!)
The crew is amazing! Stacey, Vanessa, Maija..Marissa... all of them will help motivate you and guide you throughout class and they all have play fabulous music to sing along to š
Did I mention your first class is FREE?! Do yourself a favor and give them a try. ...
