16th St. Mission — Local services in San Francisco

I don’t mind the homeless people — for some reason because of the visibility there’s a large police presence that seems to work. What I don’t like is how totally sketchy and dangerous the intersection is for cyclists and pedestrians. There’s no room at all made for anything that’s not a car and there seem to be no consequences for cars at all and drivers also bully cyclists. The totally scary way Americans are allowed to make right turns on red makes this a super scary place for pedestrians. I hope at some point they can do some street narrowing. It’s pretty wild seeing the contrast of the super rich people in casual clothes mixing with homeless drug addicts, but you also get other fun moments like the street preacher yelling into the microphone while yoga moms chat casually holding smoothies nearby. It’s such a fun and cataclysmic image of america that’s strangely fun... in other cities these people would never be anywhere...

Not sure what I should review first. 16th street bart station or Bart itself. Anyways both are terrible. Don’t even deserve 1 star rating honestly. Bart is always late, extremely crowded, dirty.. should I continue? Now 16th street Bart station.. the dirtiest place in this city.. maybe not the dirtiest but one of them for sure. Smells terrible.. bunch of homeless people.. poop and all that. Staff that looks like doesn’t really care. Every day I see bunch of people getting out through the emergency door.. so what. They are too busy getting paid overtime and sleeping in their booth.. If there would be any other alternative.. this enterprise would be out of business...

Hey,if you are riding public transportation,you know what to expect.This is a gritty station in a gritty neighborhood. The bathrooms have been closed for decades,and (no big surprise), people pee where they can around the station.So yes,it is a smelly area. As far as the actual functioning of the station goes,you can always catch a train to quite a few places in 15 mins max. Buying tickets is easy,and at least 1 person is always there to answer any questions you may have,and sometimes there are as many as 2 people working there at the same time.
