Read moreI love the events Manny’s has. It is a great space for civic engagement and discussions. They also have a good selection of wine, beer, coffee, tea, and even hot chocolate.
One of their events was catered, which included empanadas and hummus with chips. I don’t mind that combination - they were yummy. I hope to go there during a time when they serve food. Most events are not catered so I tend to get ravenous after it’s done. But currently from Tuesdays - Thursdays (until 3pm I think), they will be serving food. The menu has mostly lunch options with a few breakfast options.
I don’t know if they open the event space during regular hours, but the cafe section is cozy. There’s tables and chairs to do some work. Though, there is no wifi so I think that is a sign to not stay there for a ridiculous amount of time to work. I read an article where cafes are losing money because patrons will be one cup of coffee and work there for hours.
One of their biggest events is their Sunday disco cleanups where you are rewarded with fries for your volunteer work cleaning up the Mission.
Also, everyone who works there is really nice!
Definitely check out Manny’s Insta and their Eventbrite page. They have lots of events coming up, especially for this year’s elections, so get informed...
Read moreGreat space. Live music. Nice chill vibe. Welcome to all... Teas and coffees are good. But I learned that the food is a separate entity despite being under one roof. 1) First, it's hard to find a menu when you're standing in line. There are only 2 menus available and their in front of the cashier being looked at already. 2) Second, just like previous reviews... Dishes are over-priced! $14 Mezze Plate + $4 Lox. Add a cup of tea and 15% tip... $25 for a brunch "snack". 3) Small portions. Mezzo plate was delicious but I was still hungry afterwards! My friends eggs Benedict weren't very Benedict... Someone needs to learn how to cook properly. 4) My other friend ordered the Grain Bowl way ahead of me. I got my food right away and finished my plate. She checked on her order and I guess the kitchen forgot about her dish. They gave her a refund and offered her the Grain Bowl free of charge. 20 minutes later... Still no food! She complains and is given someone else's sandwich! Is this how the cycle of bad experiences continue... Now, that poor patron looking for their sandwich. My friend didn't care because she was so hungry after ordering almost 50 min before.
Heard great things but very disappointed. Don't think I'll...
