Alamo Rent A Car — Local services in San Francisco

My girlfriend and I were in a bind and had already made reservations at several hotels in/ near Yosemite, Fresno, Grand Canyon (Kingman, AZ), and Vegas, so we went ahead and booked the cheapest rental we could find. Ultimately, we were directed to this Alamo building. I called the night before and was worried they might overcharge or have some hidden fees they "forgot" to mention, but they were true to the word and exceptionally helpful and friendly. This was the best experience I have ever had with a car rental company. I paid no drop off fee, was able to choose my insurance options, and was asked many a time if I was needed help with anything. I read some of the negative reviews on this building and I don't know how someone could say anything negative about this place. Sure, I waited a little bit for my car, but it was nothing crazy like 2 hours. 30 minutes at most. In a world where you can just surf the internet at whim to distract you, 30 minutes is nothing in exchange for exceptional service. I cannot rave enough about the quality service I received here. For a college kid on an extremely tight budget, this was like manna from heaven. Please, disregard any negative review you see and trust me. This place is worth your time...

Terrible experience, never Alamo again! Despite giving the pick-up time during the online check-in there was no vehicle for us when we showed up at the Alamo agency. There was apparently a shortage of cars for everybody, which I don't really understand since everybody gave the pick-up time on the online reservation and 4 to 8 clients in the morning does not sound like a rush to me. In total we had our car with 2.5 hours of delay, hence loosing half-a-day of our forthcoming stay to Yosemite Park. Beside this disappointment, the staff was antipathic and tried to fool us. The first time, after 15min waiting, we were proposed to swap for a lower category vehicle in exchange of one the useless insurances. It must have frustrated them that we refused since they proposed 30min later to swap for what they said to be an upper category vehicle. After internet check, it was a vehicle of lower category, and probably the same that they tried to give us before. After the manager agreed to go and look for vehicles from other agencies , we were frankly ignored until we a car worth for what we paid arrived around noon. So... RUN...

Bad Service, unfriendly. Came there to pick up our car That we previously booked including all insurances. Had to Wait ten minutes even though there were no Other customers. Guy was typing on the Computer.When he Finished he tried to sell us some unneccessary Upgrade insurances which we refused. That worsened his mood and we were just given the Keys. No explanation concerning the car- he took us outside to the elevator to the parking deck and just gave us a roughly description where to find the car. He then left. It Was a big Darkparking deck and we had to find the car for ourself. Some of the guys Who were working there on the parking kindly helped us. Bad Service Experience all in all. I would do alamo again because the car was Good and we had no Problems but i would avoid this Office in...
