The worst government agency I have ever had the "pleasure" to work with. For a passport renewal that is supposed to take only two weeks to process, I am sitting on the fourth week without my passport. When I asked repeatedly about the status of my passport, the only answer I got was "Paspor anda sudah diproses seminggu lalu. Harap ditunggu." Yet they still have not shipped my passport to me, even though it was already finished.

Apparently, they ran out of 24 page passports so they MAILED me with a letter saying that I needed to send $20 more dollars to get a 48 page passport -- Yes, they MAILED me. Meaning that the mail got to me on December 6 (because I don't live in the California area). I have a flight that I booked three months prior; why didn't they put this in their website? Or why diidn't they EMAIL me so I can ship them money immediately at Nov 29? Because of their tardiness, I have no choice but to miss my flight. I only received a total of three emails over the span of these four weeks from them and they all were unhelpful; when I called them, they said they would transfer me to an officer, but then promptly hung up on me. They still have yet to answer any of my emails. I am completely frustrated with the quality of their service and their integrity to perform their job well.

It is also worth mentioning that they lost my sister's passport in the consulate. She applied for a renewal a month ago and in the middle of it all, she got mail saying that they lost her passport -- not in transit or mid-delivery or anything: they LOST it in the consulate. Which means that the entire process was interrupted and the passport renewal process was aborted. They mailed the passport back to her and she still has not renewed it. Utterly gross...

I’ve just arrived in the US January 2025 with a K-1 visa. I have submitted I-485 form, and received I-797C from USCIS.

Initially, I planned to extend my passport after receiving my legal status (which could take 1-2 years). However, in the midst of the uncertain political situation, plus the appeal from KBRI/ KJRI for Indonesians to always carry ID wherever they go, I became anxious because my passport had expired.

I googled for the nearest KBRI/ KJRI and found there was Warung Konsuler service would be coming to my city. I was hesitant, but still decided to contact KJRI via WhatsApp, explained my situation, and voila…! KJRI understood my situation and allowed me to renew my passport.

I realized my request was too sudden, and there were no slots left in my city. However, KJRI gave me the option of the nearest city, and I agreed to it.

I wrote this review as a form of my gratitude for the support given by KJRI San Francisco, especially Ibu Yare who responded to my email quickly and in great detail (Ibu Yare even replied to my email at 6:15 am), to Nova, and all the team behind the scenes. Several attempts to get my Indonesia visa online was rejected. I was advised that both picture and passport photo must be scanned in color if using the online visa application. I did it from my I phone but it was not accepted on several occasions. I contacted the Indonesian Consulate via telephone. No one answers the prompt stated in the recording(push no#1) so I tried another prompt, I believe number #3. Someone picked up the phone and provided the email address for the consular’s office. The asked that I send over all requested documents to their email. They also instructed me by email to come to get my visa at their office in San Francisco. I went the next working day. They provided immediate, calm, extraordinary assistance. A very smooth and straightforward process. YURE helped me and she was very informative, caring and professional.
