McCartney Painting just completed a full exterior repaint on our Victorian house in San Francisco and he is now our new go-to for any and all things paint. After being disappointed with several other painters over the last 15+ years I did vowed to get it right this time. In short, Kieron's stellar views were spot on.
We contacted Kieron and he came out and did a thorough review of the condition of the existing paint, the underlying surfaces as well as the challenges our house would present from a scaffolding perspective (all four sides). Kieron came up with a solid plan, had a great scaffolding recommendation, and had great communication along the way as we navigated the challenges of getting this all done during a pandemic. While pricing can fluctuate seasonally, Kieron honored our original pricing despite timing differences caused by the pandemic. Before we started the painting we worked with a great color consultant to fine tune our paint color choices, and it was gratifying to hear from the consultant they had "had worked with Kieron in the past and he was one of the best".
Once onsite Kieron and his crew were awesome. The team was prompt, worked hard, and everyone was polite and respectful. Keiron's crew clearly take pride in their work and I was impressed by the attention to detail they all had. I even had the crew clean up the last painters sloppy splatters on our copper gutters, and since the crew had easy access to the roof they also washed off a decade's worth of gunk on our solar panels. We discovered a few small areas of wood work that needed attention (dry rot) and Kieron worked graciously with our contractor while this was all fixed. The final clean up was great... Kieron's crew worked hand in hand as the scaffolding came down to ensure everything looked great.
I had very high expectations of McCartney Painting and I'm happy to say that Kieron met them. The paint work looks absolutely stunning and we've been pleased by the number of unsolicited compliments we've received since the work was done - neighbors ad friends love it!
While I hope this paint work lasts a long time, I also now that when it is time to do this again McCartney Painting will be...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of working with Kieron McCartney and his company McCartney Restoration, Painting and Waterproofing on two home improvement painting projects. We can confidently say that Kieron and his crew exceeded our expectations in every way. They provided a fair estimate and their EPA certification for toxic substances plus being licensed, bonded, and insured, provided a sense of security and professionalism right from the very start.
Our project included both interior and exterior painting. For the exterior, McCartney Painting took the time to wash, sand, and repair the existing structure. We discovered that a section of our front deck had dry rot plus some of the siding had popped. Kieron collaborated with an excellent subcontract carpenter to complete the repairs within 48 hours. The crew thoroughly checked the windows and flashing for leaks and used high-quality Sherwin Williams Rain Refresh paint, applying two coats. Since Kieron's team had previously painted our home over 10 years ago, they perfectly color-matched the existing colors. The crew for both projects were easy to work with, maintaining a positive attitude while they respectfully listened and answered all our questions. Their adherence to the agreed upon project schedule made our workaround planning a breeze.
For the interior, the crew spot primed the walls and baseboards as needed and applied two finish coats of high-quality Sherwin Williams paint. Our walls and ceilings are white, and Kieron provided helpful guidance with on-wall paint samples to ensure we chose the right shade of white. The interior project took about two weeks to complete, as did the second exterior work. The crew supervisor, Miguel, provided excellent guidance and communicated for next steps daily, ensuring there were no unexpected surprises. The work started on the agreed upon time each day and all promises were kept.
The quality of work was top-notch, and the finished job looks outstanding. We were completely satisfied with the final results and highly recommend McCartney Painting for any painting needs. Outstanding...
Read moreNeeding to paint the first house I'd ever owned for the first time, I definitely felt a bit unsure and naive on the subject. The first two bids I got came in over $15,000 for a small two-bedroom home. Naive or not, that didn't seem right. Then I noticed that Cole Hardware here in town provides recommendations, and that led me to McCartney Painting, which came through with a bid under $8,000. That seemed more like it.
More importantly, I'm really happy with the meticulous, conscientious, well-organized, and high-quality job that McCartney did. When I drive up to the house now, I love seeing how well they smoothed out rough spots in the stucco. And they took a cruddy-looking garage door and gave it years of new life with their thorough work there. The color choices make a nice, fresh statement without being over the top.
I loved the team assigned to me. The painters didn't just power-wash the house; they went ahead and power-washed a large set of steps and a back deck that really needed it. And they treated some wood around the deck area because they noticed that it really could stand to be more water-resistant. No extra cost for any of that! The painters also. had some great input on color and where on the house to use it. The color consultant and project manager were so great in rolling with my "analysis paralysis" about color choices. They had some wonderful suggestions and, understanding my newness to all of this, were flexible with some last-minute experimentation with different shades. Everyone was so friendly. As I work from home, I got to know them during the course of the seven- or eight-day project, and now I miss having them around!
With their combination of quality work and personal, friendly service, I got a very satisfying first painting experience and would definitely use McCartney again one day. I learned a lot along the way, and even with my unsureness about things, I ended up with a paint job I really like and nice comments from the neighbors, which is...
