A New Chapter of Excellence at Dim Sum Club!
I recently visited the Dim Sum Club under its new ownership and was blown away by the exceptional quality and authenticity of the food! It’s clear that the new owner, who also operates the celebrated Dynasty Dumpling, Dumpling House, and Dim Sum Bistro, pours his passion into every dish served.
We started with the deep fried shrimp balls, which were evidently made fresh to order – absolutely delightful! The deep fried squab was another standout, perfectly crispy and juicy. The pan-fried seafood vermicelli had just the right texture, while the sautéed greens were fresh and flavorful. The black pepper, chicken, pork stomach and ginkgo soup were seasoned to perfection, rounding out a flawless dining experience. We also indulged in the spicy pan-fried pork buns, which were a true delight—deliciously juicy with soup inside and perfectly crispy on the bottom. Additionally, the steamed beef balls wrapped in bean curd skin were remarkable for their strong beef flavor, enhanced by using minimal flour, adding both flavor and texture to the dish.
Unlike many dim sum spots in San Francisco that rely on factory-made or frozen items reheated for service, Dim Sum Club and its sister restaurants stand out by offering freshly made dim sum, a rarity nowadays. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food provided. They really do put their whole heart into making their dishes and dim sum, which is evident in every bite. If you’re looking for a casual, comfortable place to enjoy good food, look no further.
If you’re in San Francisco and craving a freshly made, authentic, home-cooked food experience, Dim Sum Club and its sister restaurants are sure to impress with their dedication to quality and authenticity. Highly recommend!

Read moreMy parents were visiting this week and I took them here on a Sunday looking for an authentic and not too pricey meal and this place was decent. Prices are not super cheap but not bad, especially compared to some of the better known dim sum places in the city like Dragon Beaux or Yank Sing. We came a little before 12pm and there were a few tables left in the restaurant but it was pretty packed! When we left there were people waiting outside.
Overall, everything tasted super freshly made!
Har Gow - made very nicely, lots of shrimp and perfectly wrapped! Bean Curd Roll - this one was the best in my opinion! BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Roll - the char siu wasn’t top notch but it was decent. Chinese Donut Rice Noodle Roll - the Chinese donut inside was nice and crispy- well made! Turnip Cake with XO Sauce - (see photo) this one was super weird, not the authentic style. They are in little cubes (looks like tofu!) and does not have much other stuff mixed into the turnip but there is garnish. It was very spicy and flavorful but definitely not what I expected. Deep Fried Sesame Ball - this one was super fresh and yummy! I would definitely get this one again.
After our meal we were really surprised that they charged for tea though! It was $1.50 per person for po lei / pu-erh tea.
Come Again? Sure- not dying to come again anytime soon but this meal was pretty decent! Wasn’t blown away and it isn’t a favorite of mine but it was a yummy meal and I was...

One thing that annoys me about a lot of dim sum places is that they don't serve dim sum at dinner time. This place does things differently. For dinner, you can order off their full dim sum menu and/or order non-dim sum dishes like clay pot, noodles, etc.
So far, I've tried the pea sprouts, shrimp rice roll, xiao long bao, lobster lo mein, and mango pudding. Everything was really good. I especially liked the shrimp rice roll and lobster lo mein. The texture of the rice roll is perfect, soft and chewy. The lobster lo mein is delicious, and only cost $26 which is quite a good deal for the amount of noodles and lobster you get (my partner and I had a good amount left over). I don't think the lo mein is on the menu, Uncle David said it's a special.
That brings me to Uncle David—I think he's the owner(?), and is super nice. He told us about the lobster dish, and also gave us two free mango puddings for dessert.
The other aspects of the service were great too, the food came out really quickly.
Lastly, the interior is quite spacious, and there are a lot of tables for larger and smaller groups.
Overall, highly...
