Update: Came again during shelter in place since we were craving korean fried chicken. We were again impressed by the amount of chicken that came in an order. We also loved the sides. We also tried their kongnamul bibimbap, but it was okay. It came with soy bean sprouts, beef, and egg. We probably shouldve stuck with just ordering the traditional bibimbap, but we wanted to try something new.
We were in the area and this was the only high rated place. The photos looked good and the prices were fair. We came and decided we were in a rush so we went to order to go. We immediately noticed how run down the place seemed. There was also no one inside. I walked in and just heard a Korean lady speaking korean. I walked almost all the way to the back until she finally saw me. She told me they were only doing to go orders, which was fine, but there was no notice of this.
I ended up ordering the dumpling and egg soup, fried chicken, and pot stickers. The total was about $43. She told me it would take 20 minutes. I sat in the empty restaurant and waited. The food actually came out pretty fast. When i looked in my bag, i realized how much food they actually gave. They gave a whole chicken for the fried chicken, 12 potstickers, a whole box of sides, a box of radish, two boxes of rice, and the soup with like 12 dumplings in it. Definitely worth for what we paid for!!!
The fried chicken was a little more dry than I prefer. The potstickers tasted really good; they were super crispy and tasty. The soup had so many dumplings and had glass noodles too. It was definitely enough food for three of us.
I am so glad we chose this place and will definitely come back again. The portions were huge for standard sf pricing. I assume they’re allow dine in for dinner so I’ll try to...
Read moreA very nondescript hole in the wall joint. We've passed by this place without ever going in. My friend recommended this place to me. We walked in just before the dinner crowd and that was a good thing. Within 15 mins there were tons of people waiting for a table.
We all got different soups for the chilly night. I got the hot tofu soup with beef (it was ok, had better at other places), my youngest got the beef dumpling soup (dumpling tasty), and my oldest got the noodle soup with egg (broth was tasty). They gave us fried fish filet on the house with our ban chan (side dishes). The one dish almost everyone had was the whole fried chicken. It was a whole chicken cut up in a tempura batter. I just wished it had some spice to it, but still really good.
I'm glad we found a good Korean restaurant not too far from the house. I'l always...
Read moreHidden gem! — Came here for dinner at 5:30pm on a Saturday, no wait! People started rolling in around 6:30pm. Even though they were busy with takeout orders, I never felt rushed. I came here with my elderly aunt and the waitress kindly + patiently answered my many questions (to make sure the food was not spicy for my aunt).
Ordered: Kimchi stew & tofu stew, each entree came with a bowl of rice. Kimchi stew was flavorful and I personally like adding a dash of vinegar (which the restaurant happily provided) to make it more sour. Asked for three refills of side dishes because we were a big fan of the potato salad and kimchi!
Even though it was a small space, it felt cozy instead of cramp. I imagine it could get loud since I was able to overhear some of the conversations across the room. Overall could...
