Terrible customer service. Upon bringing up the items to the register, the Cashier/Owner quoted the post tax amount - $35.83. He mentioned that there was a minimum purchase to USE a Credit Card but did NOT mention how there was a surcharge to use one. I found out after that it was an additional FOUR percent charge. (I understand $1.43 isn't much but it's the principle behind a transparent transaction.) We returned to attempt to return the items to just pay cash instead. Even though we turned around less than 2 minutes after leaving, he said that there were no exchanges or refunds. I checked the receipt and there was no such policy written. I asked whether I could pay by card and the clerk said "yes". Nowhere was a surcharge mentioned to me.
The agent hold the card terminal in a way so that I couldn't read the total amount. Just after paying I found out that a 4% surcharge was added to the total amount.
The cashier directed to a small sign stating the surcharge. This was not readable from my position and also WRONG. The surcharge is not 3.5% as mentioned, but 4%. No returns accepted.
The 1 star review is not about the few cents I lost, it's about a company...
