A Friend & I were searching for a great foot message & came upon "GUOZUYIN REFLEXOLOGY" also known as "Foot Reflexology Center." We each ordered the $50.00 1-Hour Foot Message, & were asked to pay in advance. We explained that our Tip would be paid in cash at the close of our visit.
When asked, the Hostess mentioned that the message was a full 60 minutes, and the 60 minutes would begin right after our feet were soaked. At exactly 40 minutes after the message began, both men masseuses, indicated that the time was just about up as they wiped the lotion off our feet.
I was surprised because this was not a full 60 minute massage, & verbalized this to the nearby hostess. She said something in Chinese to the men which we did not understand, & they began chatting to one another for the next 10 minutes. As they were chatting, my Masseuse began slapping my feet & knees rather aggressively which was painful. He also began squeezing my kneecap, & I broke my Meniscus years ago, so this was torture.
The men finished 10 minutes short of the hour to our politely-expressed dismay. We each took out $5.00 Bills to tip our respective Masseuses. The Hostess looked annoyed, & said rebukingly that we each must pay a $10.00-tip. We were both surprised at this, and the Hostess said that we should have understood before the massages that there's a required $10.00 Tip. We left the venue greatly dismayed, & not altering our tips. A tip is gratuitous, & it's improper if not illegal to tell people what to tip (unless it's a restaurant that pre-states this).
I am editing this review only to add comments after my initial review; I wrote my completely unbiased review, & then out of curiosity read the prior reviews of others. I am disgusted (BUT NOT SURPRISED) to find that an overwhelming 95% of their reviews are unfavorable. Furthermore, the slimey & dishonest practice about tips is apparently part of their modus operandi. I can't fathom how this place manages to stay in business!!
My last point; As I edited this TWICE, I noticed that someone seemed to "force my hand," & the 1-Star rating I gave this place was changed to three stars. If my review is anything above 1-star, please know that it was altered by someone other than me. Integrity above all else; I welcome someone to honestly explain how...
Read moreWorst reflexology centre I have ever been to. The lady at the counter was nice and friendly, we payed for our massage and we sat down and were given a nice rose foot bath which we bathed our feet in for 10 mins. I had a very bad masseuse who didn’t understand I wanted it soft, not rough and hard like she was doing it. I didn’t enjoy my massage at all and actually was in pain the whole time and she was very not bothered about what she was doing. No pressure or anything just rough rubbing. I think it definitely depends on who you get here as my boyfriend had his done with me and he said his was nice and he enjoyed it. We then tipped the masseuse’s $10 so $5 each, and they basically forced us to tip them $10 each even though my masseuse was absolute rubbish!!! It seemed clean, but they didn’t make you feel super comfortable and the chairs were not very nice to lay on. Seriously don’t go and waste your money here! Find somewhere else before...
Read moreWe popped in here on a whim as we were flying back home and wanted to use up the last of our dollars. Whilst the massage was good, on our exit we were handed two empty envelopes and told to put our tips in there. This isn’t exactly a cheap massage ($55 for an hour which you’re told to pay at the start) but if we had any actual notes left we would’ve tipped just like we had in all good restaurants/pubs we’d been to on our stay. We explained we had no more cash (they charge you extra on card) and she tried to force us to pay the tip on credit card and we refused because at this point she was so rude, forceful and belligerent. We wish we had read these reviews first before coming in here because it’s NOT a good experience ! Definitely...
