There are many good aspects at the Nail Hall but these are not upheld consistently. I have had some of the best pedicures of my life at the nail Hall but they can't seem to keep the same nail techs. In the 10+ times I have been a good third of the time I had a mediocre service. I've had nail techs be very rough removing gel polish with the nail file filling my cuticles ALSO when they should be filling the nail. I kept booking and going back because COVID has made keeping employees difficult. I thought just give them a chance. The last pedicure I had was a B+. I felt happy. The owner pushed my friend and I to book our next service then rather than later. The owner remembered that my friend's partner had come in before. They pushed my friend to book for their partner too. She was telling me I should book for my partner as well then. I was not sure so the owner tells me I can call back and make an appointment for my own partner. We booked our pedicures six weeks ahead. Getting close to the appointment date I tried calling a bunch but always a machine. I finally get a a hold of someone who tells me that they'll only have 3 nail techs in that Sunday. The next day they call my friend and cancel her and her partners appointment because now they'll only have two nail techs in. We booked six weeks in advance. We gave them our credit cards to hold the appointment. In the time I've been going they've gone through three different receptionists. I never have the same nail tech and I'm expected to pay up premium prices for varying quality of service. If the nail hall was consistent I would remain...
Read moreI went for a "signature pedicure" with normal polish. I paid under $80 in total with tip. I found this salon because I asked around and searched specifically for a clean salon with cruelty-free products. The non-toxic list is great but so many places are subpar or still have poor product choices. I'm happy to report that The Nail Hall isn't one of those.
This is small and relaxing with friendly and professional staff. Plenty of color choices! Listening/attention to detail helped avoid an allergy concern. I had no issues with my pedicure after I left and days later, my non-gel polish looks great! I was very comfortable. Bonus that they had $5 flip flops available.
All the pricing is transparent and seems fair to me, especially for a modern salon downtown.
Beyond all that, my only gripe was the basin was filled with cool water (not warm), which I thought was odd. I've never been to a salon that used cool water but I rolled with it. I walked from Embarcadero BART stop anyway, so it felt nice.
Overall experience was great and I'll return if/when my time and budget permit. I'm glad I had credit for this visit!! :)
P.S. Sorry for all my edits. I kept noticing typos or things...
Read moreBeauty treatments are my vice. I love to do them and I don't mind the price, as long as what I'm getting for that price makes sense. Some of the best salons in Beverly Hills have been my second home. It's the ambiance, but it's also the talent and hard work. The Nail Hall's prices don't make any sense.
Here are my issues: The 5 free is a marketing ploy but that's fine. They charge for beverages....I'm paying $90 for a gel pedi and water isn't even offered? I have ingrown nails. I've never had any issues with having them clipped. I've never needed a medical pedicure. My technician sat and picked my skin for an hour (really aggravating) and although I asked her to clip the nail, she wouldn't. Now, if someone is uncomfortable doing something that's fine but if you can't clip a nail you shouldn't be doing them. The owner said they aren't trained to do that. ??? lol. I went on vacation and had to pay someone else to fix them because I was in pain. The neon light, foot soak, and plants are not enough to justify their prices. I was offered champagne or a drink when I explained my frustration (which I didn't get a response to initially until I emailed again)....
