First, this is a gorgeous old theater and I do appreciate that places like this still exist.
We had the misfortune of being in the balcony when seeing Sir Pareick Stewart. The seats are old school. AKA atrocious, small, cramped and solid wood/metal. As such, anyone talking about comfy seats must've been down on the floor. So, yeah, unless you're tiny, and have buns of steel, avoid the balcony like the plague.
Am surpsied how many people were praising the audio system as it flat out sucked. Even my wife and son, both of whom can hear far better than me, struggled. While they largely manged, I couldn't understand a damn thing, so really ruined my night. Not sure of they had Batman running the audio controls that night, but whomever it was should've been fired.

This theater is part of an old elementary school and it feels like it. If you are over six feet tall be prepared to spend your whole time with your knees pressed into the seat-back in front of you. The staff, while helpful when confronted with an issue, is not proactive at all. I consider this the worst theater in San Francisco...

The theater is large enough to accommodate a decent sized audience whole still feeling intimate, and the location is easy to reach by public transit. There are parking lots close by if you're coming in a big enough group to make it worthwhile, and there are a lot of options nearby for a meal before a show.
As for @SFGMC they are amazing and well worth seeing. Family consensus is this will be the new holiday tradition to replace seeing...
