When you enter this place, it seems like a usual liquor/gas station store. But don’t get me wrong, the sandwiches are great! I had Pastrami which was great. To be fair, Katz in Mew York was much better, but more expensive and more busy, so mild your expectations. This was a great quality and price for SF. I will update this comment if I ever run into a better one in the west coast. The only thing I wish was better about this place is that I wish there was a table to sit on and eat my delicious sandwich after walking hungry to the spot and waiting for the food. I personally walked for 5 minutes to a nearby bench in 55 S. Van Ness Avenue. You may find a better place on your own.

This is a place I will forever be a returning customer! Teds market has exceptional customer service to all walks of life! Tasha made me the best sandwich! I can be a bit fussy when it comes to my sandwiches but she just rolled with me and did it with a smile! It has a very “cheers” type feel where everyone knows your name and they’re always glad you came! Way to go Teds! I will see you soon! 😍

One of the best sandwich spots in the city, they open as early as 7am and their sandwiches never MISS! Service is great the ladies behind the counter always have a smile and have great attitudes when you order your sandwich. I always get the Italian combo or the pastrami sandwich and it’s always bomb. Pro tip: ask to get your sandwich toasted!

A very well taken care of place of business that makes me proud to be a San Franciscan (if modesty and pride go together) you can tell that the sign has been there for a while, qualifies as at least vintage if not historic, and blends in well with the surroundings.

Don't let that fool you - they run a very tight game and care about what they serve to the community and the merchandise is caught up with modern demand.

You can find all the remedies you need to replenish your gut bacteria (kombucha, yogurt, etc) after a good night out as well as classic junk food items! (Chips, jerky, candy)

Overall, the team goes above and beyond a regular store-n-deli deal and I leave feeling good about spending my money at Ted's!

And for people that LOVE to read: That combination of modesty and top-notch cutting edge service is a characteristic of true SF places that have been around - respect for the neighborhoods history. I personally appreciate that because while it is useless to resist the inevitable and everyone has their own past - our children will have to share the future. Sort of a reminder to avoid judging the book by its cover and to remember what you're stepping on, because once it's gone...

Ted's is a true "throwback" in every since of the word. Where do I start? Places like this simply don't exist anymore! I'm a hold-over from the past so good customer service makes my day. Smiles and greetings from the moment you walk in. Coffee is hot and plentiful - all day. Beverages are chilled in a case where you can see everything. The Deli counter set everything into prospective .... excellent soups, sandwiches - everything is great here! No, seriously I have never walked into this deli and had my mind made up and if it was, I changed it. If you are ever in the part of SF you should stop by just to say "hi". When I read some reviews about prices I have to stop and think for a minute: I'd rather have slightly higher prices with good customer service and a genuine "thank you" rather than the "bark-n-bite" of a cashier having a bad day and I just paid for a sloppy sandwich on stale bread - any day! To me the pricing is mos def fair and if you know me I love FREE. Stop...

If you are in the outer downtown/lower mission/ south of Market/south Van Ness area and you want a good sandwich then look no further. Ted's is your goto spot. This store has a wide selection of breads, cheeses, meats and toppings with all the healthy add-ons. Ted's features a good selection of beverages to keep you hydrated and help you wash the sandwiches down. Yes I'll go here again! The owner of the store "Mo" and is a really cool-headed down to earth friendly guy and I believe fluent in 3 or 4 languages, so extra cool. The staff there are pretty friendly as well. The deli does close early at around 430pm some days and 5 the others. Be sure to go in early because they're known to have a VERY long line for their food. Yes its THAT GOOD. Pro tip to beat the lunch rush is to call in your order so you just have to drop by and pick it up. If you're in the area make this...
