I am hard pressed to leave negative reviews for businesses. I understand that miscommunication happens and that people are human, but this situation has left a really bad taste in my mouth. My fiance took it upon himself to go get a suit for our upcoming wedding and he was unfairly taken advantage of. He chose a suit and they told him they would hem the bottom of the slacks to fit, and it would be ready by the 16th. Cool. Then the suit is magically ready 2 days later. Ok. He brings the suit home and it's just not gonna work for the wedding. Check the refund policy and it said "not satisfied for any reason, return or exchange for 90 days." Awesome. But it wasn't going to be that easy. He takes it back and is told only the manager can approve the refund because the slacks and jacket both have been permanently altered. Firstly, before something is altered, that part of the return policy should be explained to the client. This is an expensive investment, not some $30 suit jacket. Secondly, he was not told the jacket was going to be altered at all. So, he opted to come back the next day to speak with the manager. The manager was even LESS helpful, citing not only were they not returnable because of the alterations, but the tags had been removed. We did not remove the tags. They had apparently been removed for the "alterations". Again, remember it was ONLY the slacks that were supposed to be hemmed, not the jacket. And alterations like hemming are usually not a permanent thing incase a mistake is made. But supposedly these had been cut and permanently hemmed, the jacket altered, and the tags removed so only customer service could do a refund, but they probably wouldn't. She said they couldnt be expected to explain the return policies to everyone. She even interrupted this conversation with my partner to take a phone call. Unpleasant. So. I called customer service and bless his heart, he completely understood my confusion. Said the hemming is NOT permanent, the tags should not have been removed, and there was NO charge for altering the jacket so that probably wasn't done. He called the store and got it to all work out, so my partner was able to go back for a 5th time and get his money back. As a last zing, the manager, still being unpleasant, told him "next time make sure you read the return policies." As IF there will be a next time! Certainly not at this location anyway. I've used MW for all of my adult life, but I will not recommend anyone go to this location. The extra star is for the stellar and amazing service that customer service provided and for the other associate (Zain I believe) that was as helpful as he could be given the circumstance of having that person as...
Read moreI went in last week for a tux fitting for a wedding that I am in in 2 weeks. When I went in I was quickly informed that even though the store was empty they could not fit me without an appointment. Due to work no other appointment that day would work for me. They assured me that it was okay to come back in two days and there would be no rush fee. I made an appointment for two days later. When I went in I informed the staff that I had an appointment and i was informed that someone would be out shortly. After 10 minutes of standing around a young teenager in a a dirty flannel, jeans , and untied shoes came out and mumbled that he was going to fit my tux for me. (not the look professionalism I would expect for a $250 tux rental) He asked me some questions like my height and age, but when I gave him answers he was entering it into his ipad incorrectly. Stating my age, height, and weight incorrectly. He didnt take any measurements and was asking me what kind of tux I wanted to rent. I must have told him 10 times that its for a wedding that i am in and gave him the wedding code multiple times. He went into the back to grab some things for me to try on. I went into a fitting room and tried them on. They were all the wrong sizes, even my shirt, shoes, and pants which are all things I already know. When I came out I couldnt find the kid anywhere. I stood there for 15 minutes in a tux that was way too big for me like an idiot until finally manager came over and asked if I needed anything. I informed him of the situation and that no one had even taken measurements for me. When he found the kid that was helping me he asked him to finish up my fitting and the kid said he couldnt because he was "busy." The manager took me to the side and finally took measurements for me. He entered them in the system and said that I would need to pay before I left. While he was getting my order together I over heard him telling customers that as long as they got fitted for their tux outside a week from their event that they would not need to pay a rush fee. Then immediately after that he charged me the full price of the tux rental and a RUSH FEE! I started to argue after I had been told twice that I was told I would not have to pay a rush fee as the wedding was still two weeks out. Overall this was a...
Read moreOh boy. My fiance purchased a rental suit here for his brother's wedding. The pants came in too large (he had to purchase suspenders at the wedding location) and one sleeve was hemmed oddly and looked pretty darn awkward. We called before we left for wedding to see if we could get help with the pants they said no. Gave a small discount of the troubles. Suit was a nice color and otherwise in good condition. Neither myself nor my fiance are complainers in general and felt OK with the outcome despite the tailoring. We called 6/23 to inquire about return date and the gentleman who answered the phone could not find our info and said he would call us back to let us know in 10 minutes. We called again and no answer. He did not call back. 6/24 I figured I would bring back suit as the wedding was over and we wanted to make sure we did not get charged a late return fee. Upon drop off of the suit I explained to the woman at the counter about our inquiry for return date - she then removed the receipt from the cover pocket and showed the return date was printed on the lable underneath. Not being a confrontatonal person myself I paid the late fee and kindly left. (I manage a vet clinic and deal with the public so I am never "that person" who gives people a difficult time) Considering the cost for the suit and the issues of the pants being so large he needed suspenders - the messed up sleeve - and no grace for the one day late return - we are pretty bummed with this location. Again - we are normally quite understanding people and dont like to cause trouble over minor and usually even major inconviences but the service here was pretty darn bad. Its not about the $20 (plus tax 😒) fee for me...its the principal of it all. That being said - as an Almaden native I'm glad to see this location hasn't been pushed out over the years like most businesses in the plaza. I do feel a little bad leaving this review but hopefully their tailoring and customer service will make room for improvements and they can serve Almaden and the surrounding area for...
