Shop@First — Local services in San Jose

FYI: This review is about the general shopping center, not any particular restaurant or store.

General area: A lot of dining options for food, drinks, etc. It's not for nightlife though, so expect the place to be quiet after work hours. Very busy during work lunch hours. General area/dining options review =3.5 out of 5.

Parking: This is why my review is 2 stars, use caution when parking. I parked here on a Saturday at 11:00 a.m. only to find my car and 4 other cars next to mine broken into. And we are talking a bright and sunny sunny day, not late/early, and with a lot of people walking around. My vehicle had no valuables at all in it. Just so happened to be parked in a line of cars where the individuals decided to break into. The parking lot security did their best to get any info of the individuals that were breaking into the cars, however it was just that one security guard for the whole lot and they drove off before the guard could run to the area. The security guard told me that it happens more often than it should and the owners of the shopping center don't do much to help (such as hiring more than one guard help to patrol the lot). So if you wish to park here, keep your valuables hidden, and park as close to the restaurant you are visiting and not in the interior area of the parking lot. Parking review = 1 star out of 5.

ALWAYS CHECK EXPIRATION DATES!! This store doesn't check dates and I've (very) often found expired food in the fresh food sections. A while ago I had to tell them on 3 separate visits that all of their mozzarella cheese was expired before someone finally took it off the shelves. I've found things that have been expired for a few weeks. For whatever reason a lot of the food here is either expired or about to expire. They also seem to go weeks without restocking products. I realize that this Target isn't super busy but still, there shouldn't be large swaths of aisles empty for weeks at a time. The store is in a convenient location and the employees are nice but the cons kinda outweigh the pros so I'd generally advise you to go elsewhere unless you're in a pinch or you're willing to take the chance that they don't have whatever you're looking for in stock. On September 17, 2019 I was in the lobby of the Hyatt House San Jose. When I get back to my car (a rental), I found it was vandalized and they stole my computer and documents. A total of 7 cars were vandalized the same night. I spoke with the ROK Steakhouse manager and he told me it was not the first time this happen. I called the SJPD no emergency number and after multiple attempts finally they answer my call. They asked me about evidence and if the business have cameras. I guess I supposed to do my own investigation. Later they told they can't sent an agent and they told me to go online to file a police report. It's clear to me the SJPD and the landlord don't want to take any action to stop this. I feel sorry for the businesses in that shopping center. They may consider take their businesses to...
