It was ok, did not find what I wanted. Bought this instead! Another visit- very disappointed. Sour cream - passed expiration date, cottage cheese, obviously was frozen before, Ryazhenka- bot edible at all, very sour, candy Ptich'e moloko probably expired long time ago, were hard instead of soft inside. On a bright side, Georgian wine was great.

Very nice market, I found a lot of things from my country that were hard to find in any other store. If you are from Eastern Europe you kinda feel like at home there. Found a lot of Russian, Polish , Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian and even Dutch products, visit there made me happy and a bit home sick. Recommend!

They sell beautifully bottled Khvanchkara that tastes like ethanol with red dye. Do not buy it there (or anywhere, for that matter). It may not be the store's fault, but, on the other hand, they should vet their suppliers.

If you are Polish/Russian/Ukrainian you may love it here, it's like entering a black market for goods from that area, they have a collection of hair dye, cosmetics, and hygiene products. We asked if they sell fresh baked honey cake/medovik/smetanik and an employee gave a round eyed look (not sure but it looked like 'why would you look for that here?') and shook her head. It seemed like some people were buying prepared hot food to-go, but we didn't see a sign for it, and didn't want to bother them as they seemed busy, and no one was speaking English. We got some Kabanozy, some convenient uvelka buckwheat and barley bags, and some sweets. They have a huge selection of teas on the wall (in addition to Ahmed and other brands) but other than some that had pics of chamomile or mint, you had no idea what was in it so if you don't have a friend to interpret, you will have to be adventurous. They do sell some bread from Cinderella bakery in SF but we didn't see black bread, which we like. For us, since we don't speak the language, Kalinka is a better, easier place to shop for similar/same items. The staff is more welcoming, and forthcoming with information when asked questions regarding the food or...

Out of all the Eastern European food stores, Slavic Shop is hands down the best in every category: Selection Quality of the Products Friendly Service Unlike other stores in South Bay, I have never found an expired product at Slavic Shop. Other stores often turn a blind eye to expired goods or hide the expiration dates with stickers.

No other store in the area offers such a selection of high-quality products. If a product isn't available at Slavic Shop but is offered at another similar store, you can be assured that the product is of inferior quality, if not potentially dangerous to your health.

I don't understand how anybody can give a negative review...

I went to this store today. It has a great selection of polish food. I liked that. But I didn't like the owners and people who work there are just rude. I had a service dog with me and they are like asking if this is a service dog however you can obviously see it. My dog is sweet and doesn't misbehave. I noticed they spoke Russian to each other about the dog and made faces. They shouldn't be doing this because I did understand than and that's not nice at all. They should be more respectful towards people who REALLY DO need a service dog with them. Three stars only because customer service matters a lot.... And in this store that...
