Nestled in San Jose, California, Mayflower Restaurant may appear modest from the outside, but don't let its unassuming facade deceive you. This charming gem is a quintessential mom-and-pop establishment with hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. Upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting atmosphere.
One unique feature that caught our attention was the ability to order directly from our table by scanning a barcode. This innovative approach made the dining experience seamless and convenient, allowing everyone at the table to easily place their orders or opt for a collective order.
The decision to dine here was thanks to my wife, who discovered Mayflower through glowing reviews, and we're so glad she did. Our meal exceeded all expectations, with each dish arriving piping hot and bursting with flavor. The potstickers were a standout favorite, earning a perfect 10 out of 10 in my book. The wonton soup was equally delightful, and the combination chow mein and chicken were absolute winners.
What truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service provided by the friendly and attentive staff. Their warm smiles and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home.
In conclusion, Mayflower Restaurant is a hidden gem that surpasses expectations with its delectable cuisine and welcoming ambiance. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, this establishment comes highly...
Read moreI agree with BL (2 months ago) This place used to be SO good. Just good, simple, tasty chinese food. I believe they have a new cook though. I have been working in the area 6 years and have been going here at least once a month maybe twice to eat. The last three times i went the food was awful!! It tasted like the dish was cooked in another dish's leftover broth! I cannot describe how bad it was but it is not the same cook. My shrimp fried rice tasted like the shrimp were plucked out of another leftover dish and placed in my rice. They were small and hard. I gave up and now I go back to Tsing Tao on San Tomas Aquino. They have always been and remain solid. The once tasty chinese food is no more at Mayflower. I used to brag on this place...
Read moreI have been here many times before the pandemic. I went with my mother for lunch yesterday, Sunday 3/7. In the old days it had two waitresses, but now it has only one. We arrived at around 11:30 and were the only dine-in. There were many take outs. The food is still pretty good. Portion is large. Service is like 90% of the Chinese restaurants. Want water, you ask. Want another napkin, you ask. Chinese restaurants' waiters/waitresses seldom come around and ask you how everything is or if you need anything. The price definitely went up. But overall, I will return...
