Sol Tan — Local services in San Jose

I bought a bundle in 2019 and went once. Then COVID happened and they had to pause service.

Fast forward to 2020 when businesses just started opening back up, and they held a barbecue event in their front parking lot, which I attended. I went in and spoke to Lauren who was working the front desk, as I wanted to check on my bundle balance.

Lauren assured me that my purchase hadn't expired due to the special situation with Covid, so that was great.

Then they shut things down again, and today I received one of their promo texts that they had just reopened.

So I called right away to check my balance and make an appointment.

The guy on the phone said that I had nothing left on my account. He said that I visited in 2016, which is true because I've been a long-time customer, and that he didn't even have a record of my purchase in 2019. Ridiculous!

He said that Lauren didn't work there any longer, which means I have no recourse to prove that I was there at the 2020 BBQ where Lauren confirmed my balance.

I honestly can't believe this is how they treat a long-time, repeat customer, especially when re-opening.

I cannot recommend this establishment any longer....

I have been to many tanning salons and this one is my favorite. The customer service is by far the best I have ever experienced in a place like this. A small business run by the woman that owns it! The tanning machines are kept updated and very clean. One of the only places I have ever been to that actually has eye protection available for anyone that comes in. Usually they make you buy those things. As for the pricing, it is in line with everything else in the Bay Area. They have several levels of tanning beds and pricing is dependent upon what level you choose. Overall, I find it to be a good value because if you choose to purchase a package at the higher level which is the best value, the points are good...

The costumer service is good, very polite. They keep it nice and clean but a nightmare in regards to pricing. Just moved to the area and decided to do what I always do and scope the nearest grocery stores, GYM's and of course Tanning salons just to name a few. I stopped by this place and paid a whopping $18 for a mid grade single tan..... and looking at their monthly and yearly prices... I understand rent is very high in this area, but I still found it rather absurd. But hey if you can afford...
