Morning Lobby is one our favorite breakfast spots in San Jose! ⭐️ FOOD RATING ⭐️ 🌯 Birria Burrito 10/10 They give a generous amount of meat and it’s super flavorful! Extra sides of the sauces is a must 😋 I will say that it’s kind of a hit or miss with how oily it is but even on those days I’d still rate it a 9/10 because of how yummy the burrito is. French toast: 6/10 The texture of the French toast itself was descent. The syrup was a little extra maple-y for our liking. We asked for the Nutella on the side because we saw from yelp pictures that they usually put a lot on the French toast and that was a good call! Although it was decent, we probably wouldn’t get it again. Tater tots: 10/10. We love their tater tots! Only thing we weren’t a fan of is that it was served cold to us and they weren’t super busy the morning we went so we were kinda disappointed. #bayareafoodies #morninglobby #foodietiktok

It was a calm Monday morning, and I was really craving a nice breakfast/brunch vibe. My partner and I ended up choosing morning lobby after seeing a ton of hype for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I believe it was much too overhyped. This is the type of place that wants to be all that, yet it lacks certain little details. There was a clear vision with the place, but lost in the grandiose of that vision are the details that distinguish and define a restaurant. The silverware was not very “fancy” feeling. The dishes were just plastic and cheap feeling. The food was good, but relied too much on oil/fat for the flavor (I would rate the food a 4/5). The drinks were also a little lackluster and misleading. An apple pie matcha should have more than just cinnamon and a dried apple slice to account for the “apple pie” flavor. Moreover, I always feel bad for restaurants where the staff are working their tails off while the owners are just lounging around doing nothing. Understandably, the restaurant wasn’t slammed but it was still decently busy. However, there are the owners just strolling around trying to look busy by rearranging the number placards by the register. I hate when a restaurant feels fake and pretentious. There was minimal attention to detail at this place and I feel bad for the staff that are working hard with what they have.

I had a really great time coming here today! I went on a Saturday around 1pm and only waited to order for about 5-10 minutes. There is someone directing the line, and he even saved a table for us which I really appreciated.

We tried the orange juice, matcha cream top, tator tots and birria burrito. I really loved everything.

The OJ was very fresh and refreshing.

The matcha was a bit sweeter than my preference but still really enjoyed it.

The tator tots were actually my favorite item although I think it should come with a sauce like a garlic aioli or their orange sauce.

The burrito was super good as well. The birria was so flavorful and I loved both sauces that it came with.

I split everything with my boyfriend and we were so full at the end. The portions are great. I spent about $36 for everything! I think that is not bad at all for the great quality, portions, and service.

We were going to do work on laptops here and they told us we could, but I think it’s still too busy for that. We would have been taking up seating, so I would wait a bit longer to use this for studying or working or go during a slower time. (no outlets btw!)

I loved the decor and pink quartz counter. It was really aesthetic without being bland.

And staff was so kind!! I will...

Update 10/24/25: Tried the classic egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with avocado this morning for the first time. Yum! That bread so crispy and soft at the same time and tastes like a croissant and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Will definitely order this again 😁

Morning Lobby on Almaden Expressway has been my go-to spot pretty much every week since they opened. The Vienna latte is my favorite. It is sweet with just a little salt on the cream and so good I could eat a cup of it on its own. The food is solid too. I have had the tater tots, avocado toast with a poached egg, and the Nutella French toast. Friends tell me the burger and breakfast burrito are really good as well. Even if the line looks long, it moves fast and the orders come out quick. The staff is always friendly and says hello with a smile, which makes the place feel really welcoming. It is a cozy spot that has become part of my weekly routine. In fact, I was just there yesterday and thought I should leave a review on Google to let others know how great this place is. Be sure to try the Vienna latte! Pro tip: get it to go so you can enjoy the cream from the lid when it’s done… and don’t mix it when you get it! Drink the coffee through...
