For my proposal, I decided to do a private charter on the Amazing Grace with a group of my friends. The planner for the private charter was very helpful, she assisted with the planning of the decorations, flowers and the menu for the evening. We sailed into the bay of San Juan before we anchored near the Paseo de la Princesa. We then started off with a toast of champagne to begin the evening as the sunset with the view of Viejo San Juan. I them started with some pictures to initiate the proposal, as we looked into the ocean I got down on one knee and popped the question. This is when the celebration began with more drinks, a three course meal and music. We partied the rest of the evening after dinner with the open bar and finished the night with the firing of a mini cannon. Read moreWe sailed on the sunset cruise on the Amazing Grace,it was beautiful! While the weather didn't give us a beautiful sunset, we did get a partial sunset which was very nice. The views, especially when you are out near the fort are AMAZING! The crew was very informative, professional and funny. The appetizers and drinks they served were very good as well. Rum drinks of course but a whole list of other options of liquor and non alcoholic beverages. They actually had 3 rounds of different appetizers,not too much but just enough. I am very glad we did this cruise, we got lots of pictures. The place is almost 500 years old, and has the blue 500 year old cobblestones on the streets still.
Some of the buildings that are crumbling, and some buildings have trees growing through them, so the government is trying to restore them
I hope they save all the buildings. The old hospital is the large blue building that is vacant.
Be sure to visit the pigeon Park where people have been feeding pigeons for centuries. The good thing is there are no pigeons in the city itself because they sell pigeon food at the park and visitors go and feed the pigeons...
