Michaels — Local services in San Marcos

I shop with Michael’s frequently since I have an art business. We went yesterday and they had signs for buy 1 get 1 free on brushes and we got a frame for $5 bucks. I got home and double checked the receipt because it seemed kind of high. They didn’t do the discount for buy one get one free for the brushes and charged full price for the frame. My husband went back to the store to get them to honor the signs that were still currently up. The guy at the register said people miss read the sales signs all the time and need to read the fine print better. So they have signs attached to the brushes that aren’t on sale. I’ve worked and managed corporate retail locations. You always honor the price of signs if they are over an item due to advertising. For the employee to say it happens all the time and people don’t read the signs (which we did) is insane. They didn’t honor it so I returned the items and will purchase them someone else. I needed a last minute frame, preferably one to match another frame given to me by my mother, for a gallery display. It is my first gallery. Brittany (? Started with B and memory is terrible from sick so hope correct) In the frame department did such a wonderful job.

She took her time cleaning the glass, the frame, the picture, and wanted to make it the best presentation possible "for a fellow artist." I can't thank her enough for her positive attitude and professionalism! She could have been upset knowing it was last minute and I was rushing...

I had been sick and laid up in bed after surgery and didn't even know my work was due at time of payment/form submission so I was caught off guard. I even had an emergency vet appointment pushing me closer to the deadline.

There was a frame identical so they could be displayed side by side and looked AMAZING! Even the lady from Art on 12 mentioned it looked really good in the frame.

I have always come to this store for my crafting supplies. The night staff are amazing. Today I walked in looking for some items to do some crafting at home. As I was about to do my self check out, this lady name Fran did not allow me to check out on my own. She rush from where she was at and advised that I wasn’t allowed to use self checkout when clearly the machines were working. Anyways as she was scanning my items another lady came behind me and she allowed her to use the self checkout. After observing that I asked her why I wasn’t allowed to use self checkout. I asked her why is it because I’m Hispanic? And she laughed, well here comes an Africa American gentleman and she did the same thing to him. To me that looked like she was discriminating against both me and that gentleman, because we are not the same skin color. Sorry but I won’t be coming to this...
