I had a very pleasant and smooth experience at the Spectrum Store in San Marcos. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by a friendly staff member who met me at the door with a smile. She assisted me personally from start to finish, without handing me off to anyone else, which made the whole process feel personalized and efficient.
I was there to trade in an old router for a newer model, and she handled everything quickly and professionally, taking care of all the necessary paperwork without any hassle. While helping me, she also asked if I was happy with my current cell phone service and whether I felt like I was overpaying. She mentioned Spectrum’s offer of a free phone for a year, but what I appreciated most was her non-pushy approach. She simply encouraged me to go online, compare options, and come back to see her if I decided to switch—no pressure at all.
The store itself is very clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with Spectrum merchandise, as well as a nice selection of cellular phones and tablets. Its location is also a plus, situated in a shopping area near major retailers like Target, Academy, and JCPenney, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking was easy and convenient.
All in all, my visit was a great example of what customer service should be: Good People, Good Service, Good Value =...
Read moreThe actual store was fast and helpful however the service is terrible and has wasted my afternoon. Earlier today I signed up at the store but the spectrum website and app will not let me create an account or log in. It just says, “feature unavailable.” I tried calling support but they just kept saying I needed to sign up as if I hadn’t realized that 🤣. I tried on 4 browsers and 2 different devices but it still just says “unavailable” and the 3 support people I talked with didn’t know why. I don’t enjoy being a Karen, but spending hours unable to setup something that should’ve taken 15 minutes is just pathetic. I’m gonna keep trying for a few more days, then I’m going to cancel my service if it doesn’t start working.
Update: I’ve been using their service for three months and I’ve had to lower my initial 3 stars to 1. The internet will have outages as much as twice a week for several hours with no explanation. Many times, the internet is so slow I can’t even use FaceTime. The spectrum app is a nightmare as well. Ironically, I’m having issues even uploading this review right now because the internet is truly...
Read moreMy overall experience with spectrum has been below average. The internet service while fast lacked consistency in my area. There was always outages at least once a week. The only time they shaped up was when a new ISP provider with comparable if not better speed and service entered my area. After the new competition they went from once a week service outages to once a month outages. I kind of got tired of the constant unannounced package upgrades and hidden fees that they kept on hitting me with so I decided just to cut my service. One of the only upsides I had was going to the spectrum store and cutting my service right then and there tho granted they hit me with the prorate fee saying that it was going to be 90 bucks even though I was one day into the new billing cycle. Do I recommend spectrum know if you can find another internet service provider in the area that is more consistent I would go with them. Spectrum service outages in hidden rate charges are garbage. All in all below average service with my ISP the staff was decent at the...
