Drove an hour each way at 8 months pregnant after endless searching for a dresser for my daughter’s nursery. There were two that met the criteria needed but like a lot of the furniture there, there were serious cosmetic defects on one. I was diligent in checking over the one dresser that I ended up purchasing. Inspected all sides, checking drawers, etc. I only have a midsize SUV so used their resources for 3rd party delivery to our home in North Austin. The delivery service has been incredible and very communicative and upon arriving at Pottery Barn to pick up the dresser he informed me via text and photos of considerable damage on the left side of the furniture. He suggested I call to speak with the manager and maybe find some resolve before he left the store.
Upon calling, I was transferred to a manager who was incredibly condescending and informed me that the damage was clearly stated on the ticket at time of purchase and coldly offered a refund without any option for partial payment back. I’ve spent months searching for the perfect dresser for our nursery and between her tone and the proximity to my due date I decided to just keep it and let it go. The manager’s tone was so stern that I felt cornered to make a quick decision and did not feel that any true help was being offered. After getting off the call, I went back to my camera roll and found a picture of the tag at time of purchase. NOTHING about damage was noted on the tag. A blatant lie or something that was certainly added after time of purchase. Very frustrated and disappointed in the outcome of this...
Read moreSuper pleased with this place! We live about 10 minutes north of Austin, so the drive is a bit, but it's totally worth it. We came in yesterday to pick out a new dining set, and we found the perfect table within 5 minutes. The only issue was that someone else had claimed it. Such a bummer! The gentleman helping us said he'd put us on the list as the next recipients if the previous didn't come in and claim the table by the end of the day. He also committed to calling us by 10 am this morning. With fingers crossed, we went home. As promised, my phone rang at 10:05. No one had picked up the table, so it is ours! I am overly impressed with the keeping of the commitment to call. So often, people say they will do something and don't. Part of me expected to have to call and pester, but Pottery Barn classed themselves up in my opinion. It shouldn't be such an anomaly to experience a business that keeps commitments, but unfortunately, it really is. I have always loved Pottery Barn and love...
Read moreBuyers beware. I know this is a liquidation store and all sales are final. however, I do expect the item you purchase to be labeled correctly. I visited the San Marcos location a week ago and I found a set of king bed sheets in the clearance section. There was a sign indicating packages could not be opened. When I looked the package the label indicated there were two king pillowcases, a fitted sheet and a flat sheet. This set, even on clearance, was very expensive. $100.
When I got back home, I opened the package to wash the sheets. As I unpacked the sheets, I discovered the fitted sheet was missing! I called the store and their response was…that is why it was on clearance. My point to them was, this item was falsely labeled. Nothing. Pretty much a SOL from the store employee. Be warned…the merchandise in this place is falsely advertised. My last...
