Johnny Rockets — Restaurant in San Marcos

Shopping at the Outlets in San Marcos - family got hungry - just wanted to sit outside and enjoy the weather while we eat. When I walked into the establishment of Johnnie’s Rockets and was advised that I could not order Hamburgers because it was not on the To Go Menu and could only order Chicken Tenders. I did explain that we did not want Chicken Tenders and wanted hamburgers, onion rings, and a drink. This was not an option and that if I came inside then I could order Hamburgers. The waitress also explained that they do not deliver outside to the tables, and we would have to come inside and get our order. That was perfectly fine, I would come in and get our order and sit outside and eat. The waitress had to get the mangers permission to take my order. This did not sit very well with me and felt like was being singled out and not being treated as an equal. I do not play the race card – I worked very hard to get to where I am today, and it does sadden me that type of behavior is allowed at a business that could offer so much more. Order was ready we picked up it up and went to eat peacefully outside with the family, minutes later I noticed the same waitress is delivering an order outside to a table when I was told they did not service the outside tables. Unbelievable! There is a lot to be said here and I will leave it at that. Spending $94.56 for this type of service, I could have gone somewhere else and most likely treated with more respect. There are many scenarios that could have taken place, but I could have gone back and asked for a refund of $94.56 – but I think word of mouth goes further & do believe we will not be visiting tis establishment in...

I haven't gone yet so I give it a five just because I don't want to start negatively. But looking at all these reviews about how dirty the place is and the bad meat (thin and not seasoned well) makes me worry. We seen the episode on Undercover Boss and looked it up to take a visit and found one in San Marcos, Texas. We will try it this wekend and let you know how it was. We went Saturday, August 20rh at 11:30. The place is in the middle of a huge outlet mall. 100's of stores everywhere. That will explain perhaps why some say its dirty. If you get slammed for many hours there is recovery time. When we sat down it was very clean. Bathrooms too! Service was very good. I would give him an excellent but he forgot our to order so we had to wait. Onion rings are very good, fies are ok, burger was very good. The prices are very high. 8 bucks for an average burger and 12 bucks for one that has wvrything on it. We have a local place called Mighty Fine that has much better burgers for abot 6 bucks. We made extra effort to drive 30 miles to eat at Johnny Rockets. I would do it again but if I was in that area I might try it again. When we first arrived we were greeted and seated quickly, and sat at the counter. (Counter was dirty almost completely across) Then our server did tend to us quite promptly as well. We ordered our food… in which we had to wait about 20-25 min. to receive. While we were waiting, the entire atmosphere of the restaurant was very loud, the workers were all yelling back and forth across the restaurant to each other. Along with the fact that the facility was not well kept in terms of cleanliness, which was disappointing… since Johnny Rockets typically pride themselves on how clean their restaurant’s are. Then, after all of these inconveniences, we finally receive our burger and fries (we ordered 1 burger, 1 order of fries and 1 shake) we had to wait another 10 minutes for the shake. The food was decent at least. But when we get the check from our server, he was going to discount our meal due to the issues that had arose. However, the shift manager (I assume) came behind him and reverted it back to a full price order. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. I definitely do not recommend this establishment if you are able to avoid it.
