THE EASTERN WINE TOUR WAS A DELIGHT--RELAXED, FRIENDLY, AND INFORMATIVE. THE BUS OFFERS PLENTY OF ROOM AND A COMFORTABLE RIDE. BOTH FIRELANDS TOURS PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY AND OFTEN HUMOROUS. OUR TOUR GUIDE OFFERED A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION THAT PROVIDED A HELPFUL GUIDE/APPROACH TO SAVORING WINE (THE 4 S'S!), AND THE SNACKS AT EACH OF OUR 3 STOPS WERE A TASTY ACCOMPANIMENT TO THE VARIED WINES. THIS TOUR WAS A WONDERFUL WAY FOR MY WIFE AND ME TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON. TWO OF THE 3 WINERIES WERE READY FOR US AND HOSPITABLE; THE THIRD, DESPITE HAVING RECEIVED A CALL FROM OUR GUIDE (WE WERE SITTING IMMEDIATELY BEHIND HIM & AND HEARD THE CALL TO INFORM THE WINERY THAT WE WERE ON THE WAY), WAS UNPREPARED FOR OUR GROUP, SO THAT STOP WAS A BIT RAMSHACKLE. WE TEMPERED THIS BY BONDING WITH OTHERS ON THE TOUR AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A TERRIFIC SALE ON THE WINERY'S TASTY SANGRIA. CHECK THIS TOUR OUT. A perfect afternoon! My husband and I were looking for a fun weekend getaway from Columbus and this hit the just the right note. We visited three wineries and had ample time at each to relax and enjoy the tasting menu. Our tour group included two other couples from the area and a group of women who had met through their children’s high school activities and were getting away from them for the day to get to know each other better. By the end of the day, we had all gotten to know each other better, while still enjoying private time with our respective groups. Our tour guide was informative and jovial and each winery provided some yummy nosh (and one charcuterie board in particular that has inspired me to up my game at home!). We’ve already suggested this adventure to our friends’ adult children as a great second-date surprise, and we’ll be back soon with some good...

Firelands Adventure Tours provided an excellent guide and driver on their Oct. 14 tour to the Toledo Art Museum. Excellent background information was given on the drive there. The docent, Adele Dahlin gave good information on the art seen in a brief survey of diverse galleries. The docent time was just right- not too much, not too little.
