Honestly, I would avoid this Platoās Closet. The items seem higher than other Platoās Closet stores and the workers seem like they hate working there. The first time I went I came 70mins before they closed and they said āSorry, we canāt take your clothes an hour before we closeā -it was 10mins before the hour. The second time I went because I was denied the first time, they didnāt take and clothes because they said it was too mature and wrinkly. They didnāt even go through it when I left because I folded the clothes a certain way and none of it was touched when I inspected the bag again. I ended up taking the clothes to 2 other Platoās Closets, the one in Altamonte and the one on Colonial and I was able the get cash for the exchange. Go to those instead, this location was a waste of time.
(Response to the "Owner") Thank you for starting your response by calling me a troll. It's great when a seemingly professional business has to resort to name calling. I feel like you werenāt the one to process the exchange. Upon reading these other reviews on your store I can see that the service and lack of thorough work, like examining the contents of a bag, is a reoccurring practice.
Your locationās employees did not give me that option to check in things overnight, otherwise I would have taken that option. While I did indeed bring in 2 suitcases, one was large and the other was the size of a carry-onāabout the size of a small trash bag, there was no Banana Republic clothes in there. I know because I do not shop there. Love the brand but never owned any pieces from them. There was a majority of Express clothes so maybe you confused the brands.
Yes, there were 2 unused bathrobes, but what towels are you referring to? No one in their right mind would try and exchange towels for cash. If you ran into this with other customerās, Iām sorry, but I did not have any in the suitcase. I do understand not taking the bathrobes.
Itās great that you donāt accept collared shirts at your location, but the store on Colonial did. Which is where I took my clothes after. So yes, I guess I donāt understand your business model and how it differs from other locations. That is why I suggested going to other locations.
Additionally, please understand the term ātrollingā is, it is when someone posts or comments online to deliberately upset others. My goal was not the upset others but to inform others of my experience and opinion, so they can see how your store compares to the others.
Thank you āOwnerā, I hope your business continues to thrive with the level of service I received on both days I came in. Also please note, as a Loungefly collector no one will purchase the ones you have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt understand the reviews some people have given. This is the best platos location I have been too & the only one I like going to. I feel like every buyer at this store is fair & honest when it comes to my clothes. I always bring around 1 to 3 bags every couple of months. Since Iāam always shoping at thrift stores for my job. I work in fashion & always have the name brand clothing a platos would be looking for. ( also FYI to the ppl in the reviews, platos also doesnāt necessarily take only name brand clothing. I feel like for me although I have not worked at a platos to state that as a fact ( this is my own opinion & review) But I feel like they base it off of the styles of this years fashion & what is in style. I know personally for me I have taken in purses and some clothing that are not namebrand and they take it because itās fashionable and in Instyle at the moment. With that being said customer service is amazing ! the manager Laura is super friendly and you can tell she really cares about the store and her employees. Also people who donāt work in the resell industry retail before always assume that their clothing is worth so much more than it actually is. in reality reselling clothing is not that much so youāre not going to get that much back for your clothes. Every time I sell with them I always make $50 or more and Iām always happy with my outcome but again I do work in fashion and I keep up with the latest trends and styles of today. Thereās two things that I do agree with that some of you have said in the reviews and one of them is that they need more plus size clothing but I can assure you that I just went in yesterday and I have seen them double their plus size clothing selection since the last time I was there so theyāre definitely working on that! & another thing is is yes they have made some more expensive changes to their Victoriaās Secret line but you have to think of it as the Victoriaās Secret retail is more expensive now so they have to up their prices to thatās what you always have to think about so their prices are fair! I also have to applaud them with what they have on their racks. I donāt know why some of the reviews said that they had seen damaged items????? That is bizarre to me I have not ever caught any damaged items when Iāve been in the store ! I actually see the opposite , I see freshly new with tag items all the time when Iām there I see great clothing for a fair price! thank you platos for being so great!! Love this location! Good job...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store doesn't even deserve one star but I had to give it in order to leave a review. I ONLY shop at trendy stores such as Express, American Eagle, VS, Buckle, Michael Kohrs, local Boutique stores. I take very good care of my clothing, and would never even think to bring something old, stained etc... I've attempted twice now to bring in items that are name brands, not more then a year old, like new, ironed, and even neatly folded in the bag to this store and both times have turned me away, and what's hilarious is they start off telling you.... you had a lot of really great brands, such as this, this, and this, however in order for us to take clothes, blah blah blah.... they go on and on trying to give you a lesson on what you could do better before they tell you, they don't want anything. I don't need a lesson on style. I already know it so just tell the customer yes or no. Spare your lesson that makes no sense because your store turns away items that clearly shouldn't be turned away. Here's a perfect example.... my daughter brought some of her items in a few weeks ago and the clerk turned everything away as well, a couple of days later, she went back in to a different clerk and they gave her 40.00 for the same clothes another clerk turned away. I walked through the store to see what they considered better then my stuff, and none of it was nicer then the items I brought in. I wish I could post pictures for examples. These employees need a class on what's trendy and what's not. They don't...
