Will never come back!!
Located in Sanford at the strangest location. GPS takes you through a Wal mart parking lot then takes you through Best Buy's parking lot finally leading to hotel behind the Best Buy and that was the only route to get there and the directions were absolutely correct. The elevator was broken and no one contacted us ahead of time to tell us. The desk clerk said we could send our luggage up on the broken elevator but there was a 50/50 chance the doors wouldn't open to retrieve luggage. The desk clerk was very difficult to understand. I was happy to see vending machines but taking a closer look they were also out of order. We did have to climb the stairs to the 2nd floor but because my husband is a smoker, he had to climb the stairs six times a day. The room was clean and had a recliner which was a plus but once reclined you couldn't lower the legs to get up. The hotel is called Extended Stay and it did have a kitchenette but there was not any dishes, plates, cups or silverware. There was not a coffee maker either. My husband went down to lobby for coffee and there was no creamer, he asked the desk clerk and she looked in a cabinet under the coffee machine and it was empty and she nonchalantly said" Looks like we are out." not caring one way or the other. Our room was 3 doors down from a room occupied by barking dogs. Also, you could hear the people walking back and forth upstairs (boom, boom). The walls were very thin as we could hear people downstairs outside talking. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower looked very clean but be careful as the water was scalding hot so don't get in without adjusting to desired temprature, you will have to find the right position for spigot. Also, there was no pool. I assumed because it is Florida that there would be a pool. Also, we were there over the weekend and received no maid service. Sanford can be very difficult to navigate at night. There was a Tampoline park minutes away and downtown Sanford is really quite nice. If you have never been, check out Hollenbach's German Restaurant. Great beer, great food and great entertainment! Upon checking out, the elevator was still broken as were the vending machines and the barking dogs were louder than ever. Did I mention the people cooking out in the parking lot getting wasted? Other reviews mentioned roaches. Thank God I didn't see any and I am praying they didn't come home with me...
Read moreWe've enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's exceptionally clean, and very quiet. It's also conveniently near I-4.
At this hotel, the staff are friendly, cheerful, and helpful. They take the time to chat with us, and seem to have a sincere interest in their guests' experiences as guests and tourists.
This hotel's rooms are spacious with everything you'll need. Generally, the hotel is very quiet, but - for maximum privacy - you may want to ask for a room on the top floor. (There is an elevator, and the hotel provides luggage carts when you're arriving or leaving.)
An added benefit in the Orlando area: Parking is free at this hotel. No costly surprises when you check in!
I've really liked this hotel's casual breakfasts, included with your stay. It's not a cooked meal, and the range of options varies, but most mornings you'll see yogurt, hard boiled eggs, delicious snack/meal bars and muffins, as well as packets of oatmeal and grits. (You'll use the hotel's provided cups and hot water dispenser to make the latter, yourself.)
And, of course, there are options for those who like coffee or hot cocoa to start the day.
It's great to grab a few items on your way out the door for a day at Orlando's theme parks.
Speaking of that, this hotel is north of Orlando, and you'll need about an hour to drive to Disney World, Universal Studios' theme parks, Sea World, etc. For us, it's been worth the added distance, to have a clean, affordable, family-friendly place to stay.
Also, this hotel is within walking distance of several large stores, including Walmart and Best Buy. Several other large shopping areas are just a few blocks away, with a wide range of stores and restaurants. That's super convenient if you forgot to pack something, or want to stop for a meal on your way back to the hotel.
While we were wary of some other Extended Stay hotels' reputations around Orlando, this hotel - a fairly new one in their Premier Suites family - easily gets five stars for cleanliness, friendliness, comfort, and value....
Read moreIf you have kids, GO ELSEWHERE!!! No pack and plays or cribs available, even though it was shared as an amenity on their website. Really frustrating to check in and find this out while carrying my sleeping toddler. Extended Stay is now off my list of places to stay again in the future, as it definitely doesn’t seem family friendly without a safe sleep option available for kids under 2!
And it seems like “hotel management” responds to all of these with something regarding they value your feedback, but nothing is done to change the situation for the person impacted. So regardless of their response, I do not intend to stay in or ever recommend this or any other location since they don’t even provide the basic amenities listed on their website. Sounds like even though breakfast is also listed as an available option that it is not actually offered beyond coffee and tea. Definitely run to another place to stay, as this is not worth the money when you can pay the same price elsewhere for an actual breakfast and safe and comfortable sleep option for your younger children. Don’t let “hotel management,” whoever that is, fool you in their seemingly kind responses to the lower star reviews here.
Edit to add:
No conditioner, just soap bar and shampoo. Again, for almost $200 a night, that is a simple thing I would expect a basic hotel in that price range to provide. Floors in our hotel room are very sticky, too. Also found a wad of someone else’s hair in the corner of the bathroom (SEE PICTURES) and really small hairs in the shower (again, see pictures) so obviously the floors and shower were not cleaned prior to my family’s arrival. No coffee pot in the room, even though this is another basic amenity mentioned on their website. No hair dryer either, again even though they list this is a basic amenity offered in the room on...
