UPDATE Shortly after posting this, I caught up with the manager outside the building and discussed my concerns. After a few minutes of talking, he offered another room on the same floor to which I said I would like to inspect it first to see if it’s going to have the same problem. His response was actually you and your family can find someplace else because you can’t stay here. Fortunately, we did find another hotel that was fantastic not far away right next to a Walmart.
Let me start with the fact that I am laying in the back of my suv instead of my prepaid room for 3 nights.
As soon as we entered the building the odor was so bad we knew something was wrong. I went up to room 323 to check it out before letting my family up. With less than 2 minutes inspection 8 live roaches of two different types skittered across the bathroom, bed, and what they pass as a kitchen. There are dead roaches all over the room, food debris, boogers on the wall, and several drops of blood on the floor in front of the dishwasher.
I came down to tell the family and started looking for another hotel since the front desk lady was disinterested in the state of the hotel.
Sadly there’s an event where people watch cars drive in a circle so no rooms were available close enough after driving 11hrs to get here.
My sister asked the front desk for cleaning supplies but was promptly denied “against policy”. I went to the store next to the hotel and not a single cleaning product. By the time I returned empty handed my family was in the room trying to make the best of it while I tried to sleep in my car.
At 4:30 am I couldn’t sleep because of the noise and went to the room. Did I mention the smell? The elevator is very hot and really brings out the stench.
Having seen the wildlife in the room I brought a blanket up so I didn’t have to touch the bed. When I entered the room it wasn’t the door that woke my sister, but my shoes sticking to the floor as I walked. Just as I was laying down the a/c kicked on in my face and yet more musty funk.
I lay in that bed praying for sleep but after an hour my asthma was arriving for the show along with burning eyes, lungs, and the damnedest burning itch on my hands, back, and legs.
So now once again I’m in my vehicle and it’s 06:30 trying to sleep, but now considering an urgent care/ER visit if my nebulizer doesn’t take care of this asthma attack.
The reviews for this hotel on apps/websites that book for you have false and/or outdated reviews. Only now having read Google reviews I am experiencing what others already know. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH.
I presume the local DBPR (Deptartment of Business and Professional Regulation) opens at 8-9am here, and I will be their first “customer” of the day. I’ve stayed at hotels that look way worse than this one, but none were more biohazardous than this place.
I will update with photos and DPBR comments since I can’t...
Read moreMixed Experience at WoodSpring Suites We chose this location because it was a lower-cost option. While the price was appealing, I’ve stayed at similarly priced hotels and motels in other states that were both cleaner and offered better customer service overall. That said, our experience here was a bit of a mixed bag. The Positives Exceptional Night Staff: Our check-in experience with the third-shift staff member was wonderful. We were in town due to a family emergency, and she went above and beyond to take care of us, which we truly appreciated. Responsive General Manager: Upon arrival, we noticed the floors in our room were sticky and not clean, which was disappointing. However, the General Manager, Todd, quickly stepped in to resolve the issue. A very kind housekeeping staff member came up to clean the floors, and, while she worked on that, I took the opportunity to scrub down the rest of the room myself. Outstanding Housekeeping Staff: Massive kudos to Tea and Diane, who were lovely to work with and incredibly professional. The housekeeping team deserves a full five stars—they’re fantastic at what they do! Areas for Improvement Room Cleaning Policies: The policy of cleaning rooms only once every 14 days may work for extended-stay guests, but it feels insufficient, especially when cleanliness isn’t up to standard upon check-in. A stronger focus on preparing rooms thoroughly before guests arrive would make a big difference. Afternoon Front Desk Staff: While some employees were wonderful, there’s room for improvement with the afternoon staff member we interacted with. A refresher on customer service training is strongly recommended. Front desk staff are the face of the hotel, and it’s crucial for them to represent the brand professionally and prioritize customer care. Elevator Cleanliness: The elevator could use some serious attention. The vents need vacuuming, the rug needs cleaning, and the floor should be mopped. These are simple fixes that could be addressed with proper processes and checklists in place. Final Thoughts While there were some standout moments and individuals during our stay, the overall experience left us with mixed feelings. There’s clear potential for this location to improve with a bit more focus on cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service consistency. We hope to see these areas addressed...
Read moreThe only thing that was nice about the hoteI was the Hispanic lady up front that helped me out alot thats it. I WOKE UP TO THEM SAYING I HAD TO LEAVE! I ALREADY PAID IN ADVANCE!I stayed there for about a 2 month period and spent thousands of dollars staying there. I had two puppies , they reminded me that I needed to pay the pet fee or I had to leave basically. I had no idea there was a fee at all. But yes I spoke to the manager and we agreed. I started paying the pet fee. I didn't bother nobody , wasn't loud and kept to myself. They still kicked me out of the hotel after I paid in advance. They told me I had to leave 30 minutes prior to check out with all my stuff in the room. I had two months worth of items in my room with my puppies. They had no reason on why I had to leave at all. They just said I had to leave. I called corporate and they said that the manager have no reason in his notes. I had to get a storage unit at the last minute so I wasn't outside with all of my things. They we're so messed up towards me. I always paid on time as well and in advance! Also I used their towells to clean up after my puppys that we're only 5 months out to a year old. I took down dirty towels only 3 times before they mentioned something about it than i stopped! They told me they could not accept anymore dirty or soiled towels from me. The general manager is never around to explain anything to me at all. He just told me i had to LEAVE! Point blank! It took me three hours to move all of my belongings with my puppys! Also you cant get ahold of the manager ever to speak to him! It was the most unprofessional place I've stayed at. Never have i been kicked out of anywhere for no reason at all. Mind you i alway paid rent and was never late! EVER!Also i was quiet and to myself with my husband but there we're kids running up and down the hallways all day! Dogs barking throughout the night and the floor above us being so damn loud and slamming stuff in their room! It woke me up throughout the night! The kids we're very loud as well and not sure who was watching them. Never going here again nor do I recommend going here! Tod Hamilton is the rudest manager I've ever come across ever! He was so rude on the phone and had no...
