I am going to give this Seafood City Supermarket another try but my first experience of this place was pretty awful, although its a new location and they offer a ton of prepackaged food basically; Filipino tv dinners some frozen, some not, my only concern is how long have they been sitting there and if their are employees are constantly checking the dates and times. I was cooking dinner for my sister and the fam, I forgot some ingredients and decided to stop by. I love the layout, customer service needs some work but I get it still new... I splurged on the pichi pichi, I would never do this! We decide to open it a couple hours after purchase and the dessert was spoiled. The smell was off, the texture different and even the coconut was spoiled. I wasn't going to drive 15 mins to return the item instead, I decided to review the place. I hope they take this seriously because selling rancid/tainted food can cause a foodborne illness.

I had high hopes for this place. It was ok at opening but I just left the store (3/23/24) and I am deeply disappointed. Reeks of fish and yes, it is going to have a fish smell. They sell fish on ice but this was not normal. This is also the third time I've either had the cafeteria food or prepared meals. Average to awful. It's been mentioned in other reviews but check labels on anything you buy. They sell a LOT of expired goods. It is a big store with a lot of potential but it is, at least right now, fulfilling none of its promise. I may give it one more shot in a month or two but unless it improves dramatically, on everything, that's it. Shame. Could be great but sadly, it sucks.

Reading the reviews posted so far, I'm pretty sure these reviewers are being paid to post and have never been inside this building.

First gripe: This is the most intensely claustrophobic grocery store I've ever been in. There's simply not enough physical room to do shopping. The back aisle (the one that goes all the way across the store where the meat, milk, and juice go) was blocked constantly. There's barely enough space to get 2 carts past each other without clipping the handles, so if 1 person stops to open the fridge to get milk, you can't go around them. The whole flow through the store shuts down all the way across as everyone in the store watches and waits for the person decides what percent of milk they want to buy. They've managed to recreate the feeling of driving on the 405, which I was really hoping would no longer be a part of my grocery shopping process.

Second gripe: Management clearly has no attention to details. The store opened on November 4th. GRAND OPENING NOVEMBER 4th. We bought $50 worth of meat on November 5th, took it straight home to cook lunch, and it was all stinky. Three separate animals, three separate containers. We called, and after waiting on hold for about 10 minutes, someone answered "Hello?"... That's it, just a confused "Hello?", like someone who was surprised his phone rang. We were instructed to take photographs, save the containers, and drive back with the meat and the containers and the receipt and the credit card used to make the purchase to present it to customer service, in order to get, not a refund, but get it replaced by other meat off the shelf (ha! no thanks). Here's the biggest problem with all this: The meat was packaged on November 2nd. ALL OF IT. The store wasn't open on November 2nd. Or November 3rd. They packed meat days before the store even opened. THEY DID THEIR GRAND OPENING WITH OLD MEAT.

Sorry, I don't usually buy meat on its 4th day, other stores would be aggressively marking down the price trying to get rid of it, but that's your grand opening meat. Embarrassing.

Also, it's more expensive than its competitors (who have similarly poor sense of quality and freshness). More expensive and not any better. Target prices, Walmart quality.

So why not 1 star? Well, maybe next week you luck out and come to the store the day they stock inventory and the meat is fresh on that day. If the food is good 2 days out of the week, that's worth 2 stars I guess. The floors were clean! I mean, obviously they were, the place just opened... but these types of markets are typically dirty and stinky, and if they manage to maintain that, that's something that stands out, so that's worth at least 2 stars.

We are in a large online group and everyone was really excited for this place to open, but I don't think many of us will be coming back. Sorry. This was a major let down...

Cashiers have no authority to do their own job as cashiers, which is dumb. A cashier incorrectly guessed what fruit I was buying (didn't look at the fruit to check the PLU), and it rang out to something totally different that was $3 each instead of $1 each. I pointed it out right away, no big deal.... BUT, the cashier has no ability to void items if the price is over $5, and even though these two pears should have rang out to $2, it rang out to $6, which means voiding it is beyond the cashier's authority. I should repeat, this wasn't at the end after I paid, or after the cashier hit the "TOTAL" button, it was right after scanning. Can't be removed without manager approval, and there's no manager nearby. What a silly policy. So the cashier has to call the manager from the back room. The manager was apparently busy because I had to wait for an unusually long time (checking my text messages to my husband who was waiting in the car, it took roughly 5 minutes from the time I identified the problem until the manager arrived to resolve it), during which the people in the line began getting upset. I offered to just go ahead and pay the $4 difference, but the cashier said it's not possible. I asked if I could switch to a different checkout aisle (we're still early in the scanning process), the cashier said no. So I'm trapped here over $4, waiting for the ONLY manager, who's apparently somewhere in the back of the store dealing with some other situation. No apology, no "thanks for waiting", manager just hit some buttons and walked away. No apology from the cashier either, it seems they don't even recognize that this was a waste of my time, just grumpy looks at me for apparently...

Unfortunately, I will never be shopping here again. I purchased a bag of rice today, however, I no longer needed that rice because my in laws already purchased a bag earlier today. My husband went, on my behalf, back to the store, immediately after, to return the item and obtain a refund from the store. I purchased through Apple Pay. However, they told him that the card number didn’t match on the receipt and therefore he wasn’t able to get my money back.

This was extremely frustrating because he showed them the physical card and my Apple Pay history that showed it was the same card that was charged. Instead of refunding the money, they told my husband that he needed to sign paperwork stating that he cannot contest if the refund didn’t go through. I’ve never had a store do this before.

They continued denying his request for a refund and kept him there for an hour refusing to give him the money back. We were within the return policy and they continued to refuse to give our money back. Now, we are contesting the purchase through our bank and have to wait more than a week to get our money back. This all could have been avoided if they just...
