We visited Santa Fe for Valentine’s Day this year and had a wonderful time shopping around town. I am so happy that we decided to stop by The Turquoise House and Joe the owner was so helpful and knowledgeable helping us look through his wonderful jewelry selection with so many different turquoise, lapis, mother of pearl and coral selections in both local made Silver and Albuquerque made Kabana Jewelry set in various types of gold! I will definitely be visiting this store again when I go back to New Nexico in the near future!

I stopped in to Turquoise House in Santa Fe because of the Kabana jewelry sign out front. WOW!! Such beautiful pieces on display! Joe pointed out a few opal pieces but a stunning spiny oyster sunrise pendant caught my eye. The design and colors seemed to represent the southwest to me. Since I'm a collector, Joe and I spoke at length about Kabana jewelry and the fact that it is still made in Albuquerque by the founder, his family, and extended family. He shared his knowledge of the brand from first hand personal experience with them and not just a distributor looking to make a sale. Joe also offered to see if he could make an appointment with Kabana for us to tour their facility and see how they make their pieces. He called me the next day to confirm we had an appointment to take a tour. How exciting!! We met him at the Turquoise House, we drove to Albuquerque together, and we took the tour. We learned how each piece is made by hand and each employee involved from design all the way through to the end result. We even got to meet Stavros, the founder of the company. This was an amazing experience for me - to see fine jewelry being made, to meet the friendliest people and be welcomed there was amazing. This was my first trip to Santa Fe and even with all the natural beauty of the area, Joe made this visit most memorable. Joe's kindness and knowledge is genuine and the best in class. Go see him - he has so many beautiful items representative of the Southwest you will not be disappointed or feel like just another shopper. Joe is the real treasure of Turquoise House - he's more than a shop keeper - he's a true friend. If I could give more than five stars I...

Please pay attention to the negative comments written about this shop's owner. If you are female, avoid this shop!

I had an incredibly uncomfortable and anxiety inducing encounter with the owner of this shop. He was aggressively touchy and trying to hug and make contact with my body. As a single female I felt trapped. He would reach to hug me and brush against my body in inappropriate places. All of this happened in just a few minutes before I was able to escape. So inappropriate and it soured the entire trip. I see just a few comments about this man, I can only assume this is a regular occurrence.

This business does not deserve...

Meeting Mr. Hamad was delightful. Very personable. Very honest and I feel I am a good judgement of character. He mailed our purchase very efficiently and stood behind everything he explained with the mailing process! The purchase: locally created by an expert potter...Horsehair Pottery vessel measuring 12" H x 35" at the widest part. What a treasure! The turquoise and other natural stone jewelry selection was by far most extensive compared to other establishments. Be ready to browse carefully and spend some time! Thank you, Joe. It was our pleasure to meet and...
