The Santa Monica Google store is where you need to go if your Google phone has a problem. I had a fantastic experience there today. They are on top of these repairs, parts are in stock and they're quick about turn around. My experience today was fantastic. It was worth driving 30 miles each way in rush hour traffic! The people who work there are great!
Here's my experience: my Pixel 7 Pro battery wore out after 3 years of constant use. I got tired of charging it 6 times a day. So I went through the Google repair page and called the nearest authorized repair people. Ufixit or whatever in Glendale and Duarte quoted me $185 and $170 then REFUSED to work on my phone, saying that the repair was complex and they didn't want the hassle of potentially breaking the screen. The Koreatown Ufixit quoted me "around $200" and told me it would be like a 10hr turnaround. The Ufixit guys told me to mail it in ... with a 10 day turnaround ... what the heck!?!? They obviously did not want to do the work. I set my sights on the Google store.
So I made an appointment with Google and went in- they said "No problem" ... parts were there and they quoted a 2hr turnaround for $85. Better yet, they fixed it in 1 hour and 40 minutes and they replaced some case parts with OEM parts. They even have nice places and wifi so bring your laptop and get some work done.Holy smokes! The customer service was fantastic!! I am super pleased with the service! My phone works like it is new.
I hope the Google Store manager sees this review, the people staffing the shop went out of their way to help me out. Truly. I was in a foul mood but they have great service and great energy.
I thank the Google Store for getting me going. I'm dead in the water without 2-factor authentication. They fixed me right up. It was worth it to drive through LA rush hour traffic. Skip the Ufixit guys and just go to Google!
Thank you Google Store employees! You deserve...

Google Fi new user discount is a complete scam.
On Sunday, my boyfriend and I saw the discounts for Google-Fi in this store. I then decided to switch from T-Mobile to Google Fi. I’d just paid $25 on my T-Mobile plan the day before, and the staff assured me that if I switched now, the change wouldn’t take effect until the next billing cycle—so I’d stay on T-Mobile for the rest of this cycle.
That was lie number one. The moment I completed the switch, they changed their tune and said my Google Fi plan would start immediately! As for getting my money back from T-Mobile, they told me to talk to T-Mobile myself. When I did, T-Mobile said my number had already been transferred, so my account was closed, and there’d be no refund.
Lie number two: they claimed that as long as the family-plan owner (me) was a new customer, everyone on the plan would get 50 % off for the first year. But when the first statement arrived, only I got the half-price rate—everyone else was billed full price.
Lie number three: they said Google Fi uses the same network as T-Mobile, so no changes to my Internet service. However, after switching to the Google Fi Unlimited Essentials plan, a bunch of apps—Rednote, WeChat, Youdao Dictionary, Outlook, Onmyoji and more—won’t load on mobile data unless Fi VPN is on, but they work fine on Wi-Fi. I’ve found plenty of similar complaints on Reddit. Other people on my family plan don’t have the loading issue, but two of them aren’t receiving group texts.
I contacted Google Fi support. Besides telling me to uninstall and reinstall all the affected apps (at least 7) and to contact each app’s customer service (because they insist the problem isn’t on Google Fi’s end), they were of zero help. They said they’d follow up by email—one day later,...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting the Google Store in Santa Monica this weekend to see if the new Pixel 10 series was right for me. They are so beautiful in person and have a nice feel in the hand. After deciding on the model and color, I decided to get the Pixel 10 Pro in Moonstone.
Veronica helped me transfer my files from my previous phone to my new one, and even guided me on setting up my Pixel experience. It was great having conversations with her while the data transfer was happening; from my upcoming trip to gaming on Overwatch, we talked about a lot of things that made me glad I went to this location!
The next day, I came in to demo the new Buds Pro 2. Netta helped me process a refund for the screen protector I bought the previous day and was very patient with me in trying on the earbuds. I also had a great conversation talking about music interests and our professional career goals! Very down to Earth and easy to talk with. I ended up holding off on getting the new Buds Pro 2, but again was glad to have come in store to try them on.
The workers are very helpful and I am happy Veronica and Netta made my buying experience with Google an unforgettable one. Cheers to a new beginning and glad to be a part...
