Iād like to share a humiliating and frustrating experience I had at the Santee Sportsplex involving Jeff Eidson, the adult softball director.
At around 8:50 PM, after my childās baseball game, I went to the snack bar to get him some nachos. I was told the kitchen was closedāeven though I had previously been told that closing time was 9:30 PM. The nacho cheese was already prepared and sitting in cups, ready to serve. There was no reasonable explanation for denying the sale other than what felt like intentional mistreatment.
What made this worse is that they were still selling beer to adults at that time. This is a childrenās baseball park, yet they were clearly prioritizing alcohol sales over a simple snack for a hungry child. That sends the wrong message and puts profits above the needs of the kids who actually play there.
When I spoke up and voiced my concern, I was treated rudely and dismissed. I didnāt deserve to be treated that way, especially as a paying customer and parent. This kind of disrespect is unacceptable, and I hope the policy and attitude at the Sportsplex changes to prioritize fairness and childrenās needsānot just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am at the complex every Saturday for my grandkids soccer games and on Mondays for their practices. I am one of the coaches so I'm there quite a bit. The complex is one of the nicer ones I have visited as I used to play a lot of organized sports. The food is pretty good. A little pricey but no more than similar facilities. The only downside I see as far as the sports venues is that the soccer pitches are in serious need of resurfacing. Last week I saw 2 of the players fall because of the condition of the turf. The other concern is that there is very limited handicapped parking way fewer than are needed. Even if 10 or so more we're added in the first row that would make a huge difference and not really affect the other parking. The reason this concerns me is that I have seen a lot of disabled elderly who have to park out in the back part of the lot. I am a 100% disabled veteran so it is hard for me as well. As I stated this facility is very nice just needs a couple tweaks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRegarding Indoor Soccer... -Facilities are newer but not state of the art. turf is coming up in certain areas. Ball get stuck into out of bounds net. substitution doors and lights are fully functional. -Office staff are polite, helpful, understanding, and knowledgeable. -Referees are erratic. One night you will have a seasoned ref that will manage the game and work with the players. The next you will get a stoned college kid who will show a blue card for a comments like "are you serious!?" to one of the calls. Calls like that takes the air and spirit out of our "Sunday" team. Doesn't help either that the table officials are on their Iphone all game. Team prices are affordable which is the reason my team joined. Daily entry fee and food tokens are not amazing but adds to the experience. I like that they serve beer and pizza, which I never tried but might when I collect enough tokens.
I have been to indoor soccer complexes in Los Angeles and San Diego, this...
