Service with a Smile! I cannot say enough good things about this store. Service is excellent! Staff is friendly and helpful. I've always been asked if I needed help. The store offers high end products, it definitely is not wash, wear and toss merchandise. You get what you pay for...and they absolutely do not over charge. We have made several purchases and I have compared the prices to other stores and on line retailers and the prices are right in line....and you get excellent service ta boot!!! When it comes to footwear, quality shoes that fit well are worth the cost to avoid foot, knee and back problems in the future. ( My podiatrist definitely has made this point clear) I love to go down to hunt for deals in the Bargain Basement! Or just to walk around and see what's new. Bill recently set me up with a pair of Lacrosse boots and I love them! I wore them shopping all day and yesterday day I went agate hunting in them. My feet were comfortable and dry! I couldn't feel the cold of Lake Superior at all. My husband has extremely hard feet to fit shoes on, they are just an uncommon size, width etc. Bill has put hours into trying to find the perfect match for him for boots. I actually, in the 20 years I have been with my husband, have never seen him happy or smile with a new pair of shoes. He walked out as happy as can be with his Irish Setters and he has a pair of Dry Shods on order. Winter is coming and Barishs definitely has the items you may need to stay comfy,...

Went into Barish on the 14 Aug. Walked in and clerk was talking to an older couple. Didn’t pay a lot of attention but then I heard clerk say “ they should close the Mackinaw Bridge like they have the Canada one to keep tourists out of the UP”. I came from Florida and have relatives in the Soo. I was so made I left the store to tell my husband how rude her comments were. Then I went back in to tell the three of them how rude they were to talk like that with a customer in the store. I had been in two other stores before Barishes and bought merchandise in both stores. Awesome clothing quality and a unique selection. Clothing assistance at the ready. Was able to buy exactly what we wanted out the small store inventory Christmas eve-eve. After a half hour shopping we shared excellent service with masks on and purchases on the counter. The Owner-manager? whom we encountered was not wearing a mask. I already paid for the purchase and was waiting for gift wrap when I decided to get my wife out of the mask-less area. I came back to the store to see the manager waving me back in. I motioned that No I need the purchase brought outside by an unmasked manager. I DO not and Will Not compromise my safety for a nice piece...
