Visited in July 2023 on a Tuesday evening. Seating and service was quick. My server was friendly and very attentive. Interior is pretty neat overall, really cool looking. Chips and salsa were okay, but the flour tortillas, freshly made, we're still so soft that they could not be used to dip into salsa. They tasted good though. The salsa is extremely chunky.. It isn't the more smooth style that you get at a place like El Rancho. It tasted pretty good too, but I prefer the thinner salsa. I had the chimichanga and overall it was pretty good. It wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't bad. It was a bit bland in terms of the chicken inside. The rice was not excellent, it reminded me of something from a box. The beans were pretty good. The food came out within minutes of ordering it. Which is kind of odd, but whatever. Overall, not a bad experience. Try it, but it isn't mind blowing.

An American Mexican restaurant sitting in quaint downtown Sault Saint Marie. With the majestic Soo locks in its backyard and resting in an older building that clearly was not meant to be a Mexican restaurant, it’s worth the trip. Fairly priced American Mexican food with a friendly and efficient staff. If you are looking for rich Mole sauce, or spicy carnitas you might try elsewhere, this is down the middle Mexican American fare. Dont let that stop you from trying it out though , the food was good, hot and fast. Hearty portions of favorite familiar dishes like chicken fajita , beef burrito, guacamole and chips will sure to satisfy your hunger after a day of adventuring around the city. Overall decent run of the mill Mexican food sat in a beautiful location, if you are in the area give it a shot, think you will be happy you did.

Our waiter was so awesome! I just wish I remembered his name. He was new but I couldn't tell because he was great. The food was great, they let me order a veggie fajita even though it wasn't on the menu. The most amazing thing was that after eating, when it was time to pay, I realized I had left my wallet and keys on the chair outside and I went outside panicking, but the bartender Elyse had stopped me to tell me that someone had turned it in. She took the time to find me and message me on Facebook to make sure I got it back. I would recommend this place anyway. 👏 My pals ordered the street tacos and said they were amazing. 🌮

4 months ago I gave them a 5 star, everything was on point, I don't know what's happened within the past few months but it's definitely not the same. Last night we had horribly poor service, it seemed like it wasn't his night, I'll give him that. We finished eating the appetizer we had to flag him down to order before he even came back to place our dinner order. I ordered a feista(?) quesadilla, there was absolutely no cheese on it, no onion, the majority of it consisted of green pepper, no variety and very little chicken. 5 minutes after he delivered our meal I had to once again flag him down to get my rice and beans, when he brought it to the table the rice was hard and watery. I tried being nice in making my complaint when he finally came back after another 5 minutes, and requested that they fix it. No problem. He brings back another plate, while there is cheese on it this time it is barely melted, still no onion (ok, so after he argued with me I investigated further and found 5 slivers of onion.) While I did state that there was still barely any onion I also state that it's fine, at least it has cheese on it and I'll eat it no problem, however, if I could get some rice that is cooked and not hard that would be great. Instead of doing anything about the rice he continues to interrupt me, saying that he watched the cook put extra onion on it and that I am wrong, this is when I decided to actually dig in looking for onion to find five pieces. The whole time I was nice, calm, kind, I understand he has nothing to do with the cooking process but the rice needs to be cooked and if I could get that taken care of we can move on. He continues to argue with me about the onions, even after I had said a few times that I'll eat the quesadilla, but can I get COOKED RICE? Instead of fixing the rice he tells me he can take my meal off of the bill. So instead of trying to argue with him I ask if I can talk to the manager to which he then announces that he is in charge tonight. Instead of fixing the rice he goes and gets the cook, I begin to tell her our problem and how it could be fixed if she cooks the rice, as I'm making my statement she coldly interrupts me saying they can just take the meal off my bill, she then proceeded to grab my plate and leave. I gave up! We're never coming back here. So we went to Taco Bell and got a quesadilla that was delicious, half the price and a whole mess of less stress. You know, my grandfather always taught me that the customer is always right, even when they are wrong they are right. Why on earth this server decided his tip and the value of the restaurant was worth arguing with a customer (who was in fact, right.) I...

We came in about 4ish on Saturday afternoon. It was hopping busy but we did not have to wait long at all and we got a really good spot in the corner booth which was really private. It was a Father's day family gathering so this seating was perfect.

Our waitress was very polite, patient, and attentive. She took our order and it was not long before our drinks were served. I had one of the best long island ice tea's I have had in a long time. The drink was served in a large tall "glass" for lack of better word. It was garnished with lemon, lime and a cherry and came with a straw - perfect for the large size and to taste the drink well. Very pleased - will order it again if I don't have to drive.

The 2 ribeye steaks were presented nicely and both were completely cooked right to what was asked for. The baked potato was good sized and the veggie portion was generous also. Both meals were eaten completely. Both parties were extremely pleased.

We had a enchilada which we didn't notice on the menu but were able to get by asking. It was immense. It had what seemed to be pounds of cheese on it - and the person eating it is a hardcore cheese person. We know what I mean - the person who eats a block of cheese as a snack. Very happy.

There was a chimichanga which had been ordered previously by a member of the group because last time it was incredibly tasty. Was not disappointed at all. Had a chicken one with rice and black beans which had cheese melted over them. Had a hard time stopping eating it but was trying to balance my long island with it. We took part of this and the quesadilla home. I just finished my portion from the fridge and it held up great.

Everything was perfect imo. I don't have a bad thing I could think of. We had a great time while we were there - we will definately be coming back sometime...

This place has severely gone downhill over the passed 10 years or so. I have fond memories of going here in the 90s & early 2000s, back then I would have recommended this place to anyone.

After ordering our meal tonight, my husband picked up our order for 4 adults & 1 child. The total was $64. We ordered a shredded beef burrito, personal nachos, chicken strip basket, fajita quesadilla & 2 orders of chili con queso. I would have said the total should have been ~$35 for Americanized, poor Mexican fare. My husband ordered the shredded beef burrito - it was a small taco she'll, a bit of shredded beef, and two shreds of lettuce folded over with a slice of Monterrey Jack cheese on top. This is a taco, people NOT a burrito. Also, it should not have cost $10 as I would not have even paid that for a delicious taco. He even went back to speak with the General Manager, Tammy. She had them remake it, but it was the exact same order. Not a great GM. My personal nachos were soggy, had mediocre beef & a ton of tomato with very little cheese. Part of the corn chip were burnt. Another entrée, the chicken strip basket, came with three small strips and a handful of fries for a whopping $11.99. WAY overpriced.

The only good thing about our experience tonight was the chili con queso, which never disappoints.

The ONLY way I would go back here is to order the chili con queso. Otherwise, not worth it in quality...
