I happened upon this store by accident while on my way home. I'm so glad I decided to stop in. They have such a large amount of product for such a small store. There are dozens of different ramen packets and noodles, tons of spices, pastes, and sauces, loads of teas and dried Chinese herbs, including loose tea and packets, a butcher's counter, fresh vegetables, dried mushrooms, specialty items, chopsticks and dishes, and, to my great pleasure, a wonderful frozen aisle with type upon type of dumplings.
I'm talking dozens of more types of dumplings than Mitsuwa (which is easily 15-20 times the size of A+ Asian Mart, but has under 10 types of frozen dumplings). There were traditional bagged pork gyoza and potstickes as well as ones that had pork with other ingredients such as celery, snow peas, mushrooms, scallops, and shrimp. Then there were bagged mini pork buns, crab and pork buns(!!!), homemade mini pork buns, homemade potstickes, several different shumai, big pork buns with vegetables and teriyaki, several types of wontons, tiny sweet dumplings, and many, many more that I didn't read the labels of.
Not to mention much much more that I didn't have time to explore!
The staff were very polite to boot. I was greeted on my way in, even though the lady was helping another customer find an item, the person in back bowed/nodded their head at me and waved, and the same lady who welcomed me was very nice as she checked me out. Saying, please, thank you, and wishing me a nice day and to come back soon.
And let me tell you, I will be back soon: very soon. I will be making the 20 minute drive there and back regularly now that I know it's there. I can't wait to tap into their tea and ramen selection, try every dumpling they offer, and browse through every amazing inch of this wonderful store. Big chain markets have nothing on this...
Read moreJust went to this store about an hour ago (4:22 pm on 1/12/2016 stated on the receipt). I usually go to H-Mart right across the street which has very good service. I sopped by today to see what's in there. When I walked in there was a man (customer) standing talking to a cashier for a long time while I was walking around. After that customer left she went to the back of store and talking to one of the employee (she talked a lot and I understand some of Mandarin too). I kept walking around about 15 minutes to see what they have,. Most food didn't look so good, I decided to buy only a pack of noodle from the fridge. When I approached the cash register she did't say" hi or hello", I can see her obvious attitude seems like either mad at me because I was wandering for so long or maybe I am too old to treat nicely (I am retired man and dressed poorly) So I said hello and handed her the pack of noodle and $20 bill. She was going to lay change-money on the counter (most stores will put change money on your hand) so I put my hand to grab it but some coins dropped on the counter. There was not one word of "sorry" she grabbed money and dropped in my hand. She did't give me receipt so I waited for awhile and finally asked her "Can I have my receipt please?". She pulled receipt from register and put in my hand, again not one word of "sorry & thank you". I left and felt sorry for the owner that has such unprofessional employee. Unless she was the owner herself! I went to China many times even over there the service was pretty nice mostly. One star rating is too many because there was no zero...
Read moreI went in to buy a couple of ingredients to make a miso soup (first time attempting to make this/ shopping for the needed ingredients), which I was very excited to make and figured I’d shop at and support a small business… when I got home I saw that they ended up selling me expired products! Stick to the chain stores instead, they definitely do NOT check their shelves to see if their products are expired! Also, the employee wasn’t very helpful and was just talking to a friend/ customer the entire time I was checking out and was...
