Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon with my younger sister because their display of clothing caught our attention but instead of leaving with a cute souvenir from the beach, we left with an unwelcoming encounter instead.
We walked in the store & looked around for a bit before stopping at a bracelet stand when an older woman asks if she could help us, not in a friendly welcoming way but in a “what are you doing in here” way. Not even a greeting or so first. We were both taken aback from her tone of voice & simply responded “just looking around” to which she replies okay & sets a sign down that says “please do not touch, ask an employee for help” in the area we were looking at. There were other young ladies before us, touching the same bracelets. Even my 10 year old sister noticed her unfriendly attitude toward us and so we left shortly after.
It’s completely understandable why a small shop would want to be careful & have a sign as such up, but if the older lady was bothered by us picking up the bracelets to view them better, then a simple “i’m sorry ladies, if you’d like a better look then you can ask for help from one of our employees” would suffice instead of the impolite demeanor she approached us with.
Edit: Woke up to find this response from the business… yes it’s clear you don’t care but it also proves that what I said has truth to it. Next time have the confidence to leave the...
Read moreWe had been super excited to go into this shop all weekend and we went in and tried on a couple sweatshirts and a couple of us bought some items. A saleswoman with dark hair and glasses came over and aggressively refolded a sweatshirt near us and then proceeded to very rudely and falsely accuse us of getting makeup on a bunch of the sweatshirts that she thought we tried on. We calmly explained that she was holding a sweatshirt that neither of us had tried on and one of us wasn’t wearing makeup and the other one of us tried on only one sweatshirt and then bought it and she brazenly said “you just bought that one thing and only tried that on” and she replied yes - because it was true. I was actually thinking about going back tomorrow and purchasing one the sweatshirts because we were in a rush and I wanted more time to decide and now I honestly will not, which is a bummer. I totally understand why makeup on merchandise might be frustrating but it’s just really a bad look to walk around accusing your customers of something that they weren’t even responsible for, not to mention I’ve honestly never had any employee in any store approach me with something like that. No overpriced sweatshirt you can buy at another souvenir store is absolutely not worth rude and bad...
Read moreI have shopped at this store for many years. My sister and I stopped in last year and really felt uncomfortable. The owners just watch you the entire time you are there. Tried to make some small talk such as how is business? Are you having a good season and the gentleman just walked away. Fast forward to 2022. Although we were put off last year we really do like the clothing and jewelry so we figured we would give it one more try. This time it was even worse. I picked out a jacket for my granddaughter and then looked around for myself. I found a beautiful dress and when I asked for a dressing room I was told they were closed that I could stand in the corner and try the item in over my clothing. By the way in that corner were two perfectly good dressing rooms. My sister who is much more easy going than myself said that we were leaving and not giving this rude business a penny if our money. It’s time to retire because your attitude is definitely going to be...
