Sea Palace Inn — Hotel in Seaside Heights

We were only coming here for the weekend so a one night stay was all we needed. We wanted to keep it on the cheaper side due to that. 400$ later we are in a room, Room 1 on the motel side to be exact - with ants, cracked tiles, doors that aren't sealed, plate covers that wiggle and have holes on the sides. There was a musty smell when walking in as well. The fridge on the outside and inside is rusted and gross. We didn't need much, service was nice, but showering, toileting and brushing our teeth with ants...sorry, not a fan. Not to mention a stained with God only knows what shower curtain and leak work painted right over. The shower knobs are ready to fall off if you pull them any harder, which stinks because the shower looks as if it was redone, semi. Maybe and hopefully the other side is better, but honestly staying here freaked us out a bit. The people staying here look as if they live here and stare at you and make you feel increasingly uncomfortable. Not to mention the pool has ZERO safety line going across telling you there is a massive drop off for children. Booked this hotel a month before our stay, the pictures online showed an alright room, average. Showed up and got our room an hour early, but I would have rather waited the extra hour if it meant better cleaning. Walked in, the mirror was damaged, bathroom lights barely worked, made weird noises. The bathroom was filled with ants, even in the shower, which took forever to warm up. When taking a shower, I had to pull curly hair off of the slightly stained, damp towels. Was no toilet paper on the roll. There was cigarette burns in one of the beds blankets (we had a no smoking room). The pillows were slightly stained as well, definitely ashes. The biggest bed in the room caved in, in the middle, and sounded broken every time you moved. Floor was pretty sticky, needed to be swept. For the money we paid, I was expecting decent appliances at the least, there was no ironing board, hair dryer, coffee pot, not even a single piece of paper on the place/ area/ wifi. This motel is modern and newly renovated. The owner also has houses also newly renovated for rent. It's located just two blocks from the ocean and boardwalk. There a convenience store just across the street and down the block for sandwiches and sundries is needed. I don't know about you but a fresh cup of coffee or tea along with a butted roll in the morning hits the spot and sometimes mandatory. There is free WiFi and cable TV. If you and your family or friends wish to BBQ they have a grill for hotel guest to use. They have one Jacuzzi room if your in the mood for a little quiet time and it's in the shape of a ❤. You would need to rent that room as it's not for all customer use. The staff is friendly and helpful. I did notice that they only took cash or credit card/debut no checks. Also no public bathrooms.
